I have bought a previous zenva bundle of humblebundle and the quality of the courses back then was quite poor.
The presenter either mumbled through the video course (with the subtitles/captions not helping at all as they only displayed “mumbles”) or using code that is dependent on functions introduced in later “chapters”. So running the code as instructed creates errors that your never sure if it’s because of you making a mistake or because of the above.
That was my experience a few years back so it might have improved by now (hopefully).
IMO quality courses wouldn’t cost 0.62 euros each.
Thank you for sharing your experience! I’m very happy to have someone who has tried Zenva training courses comment so others who see this can make an informed purchasing decision.
I am disappointed to hear that the quality of the courses was poor and that you didn’t have a good experience with them. I also hope that the quality will have improved during the time since you last tried them.
Certainly it sounds like these courses are not worth the $50 MSRP. At least in this bundle each course would be about 64 cents instead which gives me more room in my heart to forgive any poor quality.
Wow, those definitly look like “$50 msrp” courses
If you want some “other options” which might help more:
Thank you for sharing this alternative resource.
Just to say though, I tried visiting this website on my mobile and it immediately flooded my browser with pop-ups and opened new tabs for scams and randomware…
Oh shit, sorry man. Been a while since I’ve used the internet without multiple adblocks.
If you want one on mobile, download firefox and install ublock origins. Either that or try out an adblocking DNS server like adguard. Use method two so you don’t have to create an account. Or both, both is also good.
Edit: oops, accidentally linked to neovim lol. Fixed the link
That’s okay! No harm done on my end. I was mostly signposting for other people who also aren’t using adblocker just so they know what to expect if they wanna check out what you’ve shared :)
Also, thank you for sharing your opinion on Zenva. Genuinely I want people here to be able to make informed purchasing decisions so I don’t mind being slapped on the wrist for sharing poor quality courses.
They aren’t books at all
Zenva is notoriously shit my guy. $16 is wasted here, library genesis is the better option.
If you want to donate money then do it directly. More will go to the causes you care about and you won’t be part of Zenvas charitable tax break
My guy, those aren’t books that are being linked to. Their value may be shit, but they aren’t books
Good job, you pointed out my mis-write. You should be proud to know it’s fixed now.
Guess I shouldn’t have tried to give out free resources.
You didn’t have to be weird about it the first time and then make it more weird.
Humble bundles for learning materials tend to be really poor. I’ve tried buying a programming bundle before and it was definitely worse than a lot of other free/accessible coding resources on the internet. Some may be tempted with the low prices but if someone wants a paid course there are more reputable resources that aren’t part of the bargain bin bundles that humble bundle offers.
Of course, this is just my experience.
