Health officials are asking recent travelers out of two D.C. airports to proceed with caution after they may have potentially been exposed to measles.
The Virginia Department of Health put out a news release Saturday saying it was aware of a person with a confirmed case of measles who recently traveled through Northern Virginia after returning from an overseas trip.
The potential exposure has been linked to the international arrivals area of the main terminal at Dulles International Airport between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. local time on Jan. 3, and Terminal A at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport between 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 4, the agency said.
Health officials are working to identify anyone who may have been exposed, including passengers on specific flights, officials said.
Thanks anti-vax idiots
Cool, so we’ve all been exposed to measles now.
Yeah but many (most?) people were immunized as babies in the US. The vaccine was introduced in 1963. The measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines were combined into a single vaccine, MMR, in 1971.
Too bad a bunch of ignorant fucks have voluntarily stopped taking perfectly good and reasonable vaccines, leading to outbreaks where none need have happened.
Eat shit and die, Andrew Wakefield, for being an enormous fraud and generally awful human being. I hope you and all the vaccine deniers that were inspired by you die in some sort of searing hot liquid plastic accident.
I think many require another dose to re-up their immunity. I think you can get those levels checked somehow but if you are older it might be easier to just get the shot again. Check with your doctor obviously
A titer test can check for immunity. I started working at a hospital late 2019 and they drew blood to test for certain immunities. At 48 years old I discovered that contrary to what my mother said, I indeed did have chicken pox at some time in my life lol. Also due to a slightly incomplete record, I ended up with some boosters - MMR being one of them.

Depending on how severe the case was, she may not have noticed. I was one of those weird kids who got it multiple time (yes, you really can). The first two cases were literally just a couple spots. Then I had a third, full blown case which sucked as much as once would expect. If you only ever had a very minor case, it may not have been noticed and diagnosed.
