I deleted a Gallery app from my Samsung tablet and found out I cannot change the DeX wallpaper anymore (the Settings app says “The required app not found”). Other gallery apps don’t help, and the official one is available neither in Google Play nor in Galaxy Store. Is there any other way to change the wallpaper without the Samsung Gallery app? And please don’t tell me about doing a factory reset. Thanks an advance.
You could try the Dark Mode Wallpaper app, from the Droid AppStore or from Github https://github.com/cvzi/darkmodewallpaper I use it on my Samsung Phone to change the wallpaper and it should work without the gallery app.
Thanks for the recommendation, but the app doesn’t work in DeX.
It’s likely designed to only use it, so you’re probably SOOL. Try reinstalling the apk: https://m.apkpure.com/samsung-gallery/com.sec.android.gallery3d
Why go through so much hassel? It’s the default system app. Many samsung services and app’s are likely hardcoded to use it for stuff like that. It also excels in certain tasks like bulk image moving, deleting compared to Google photos. You won’t get hurt just by having it installed.
Shot in the dark, but Gallery Go? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.photosgo
Sorry if unhelpful, as fat as I know a lot of apps don’t have access into DeX
