Ashiok will also be the only PW card in WOE.

*Also also, apparently one PW per set will be the norm going forward!

I actually like that they tone down on Planeswalkers. Once there were five, one in every color, then they printed one million and I don’t even know most anymore. Also they printed like 20 different versions of some, so if I say I play Again, you have no idea what card I am playing because there are 25 with similar effects.

Also I like this Planeswalkers, really love the synergy it has. Only thing I dislike is the combination of tokens and counters.

I think I’m happy with 1-3 planeswalkers per set. Honestly, it would be neat if we got a few more local, one-off Planeswalkers that come from the planes we’re visiting. Lately it’s just been a lot of the same old crew.

Planeswalkers are fun, because they can accrue a lot of value but are vulnerable to damage and attacks. They are typically must-answer bombs because they can accrue value turn after turn, and they often help support a deck archetype/synergy. As long as there are enough answers in the format for them, I think they’re fine.
