My point is it serves no purpose here.

So explicitly not an expert.
What exactly has he done to warrant considering this? He’s a yt star, not a privacy expert.

I’ve never really conflated the two. Though the bitter irony of the modern day Edison abusing the name is not lost on me.
Ech@lemm.eeto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Movies not starting when they are scheduled.English7·11 days agoIt can vary. I haven’t been to many movies lately, but 25 minutes of ads was pretty standard at the chain cinemas with the popular movies. Smaller theaters and/or smaller movies could be as low as 10 minutes sometimes. Just gotta keep in mind the context and plan accordingly.
Ech@lemm.eeto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Movies not starting when they are scheduled.English111·11 days agoI do this at un-reserved theaters too. Just gotta be more flexible with your seating. Unless the theater’s absolutely packed and you get stuck at the very front, most of the seats are going to give you a good experience. It’s what the theater’s designed for.

Good thing I didn’t say you must vote for a certain person or party. Keep making excuses.
What an entitled, selfish demand to claim others are responsible to convince you to do the most basic of civic duties. Do you also blame your dentist when you don’t brush? Your doctor when you’re malnourished?
You’re an adult, whether you accept that or not. That means you’re responsible for your choices, including the choice to let an election fall to the greater evil because you couldn’t assed to fill in a ballot for anybody. Nobody else is responsible for you, that’s on you.
Same thing. Not voting is explicitly saying either choice is equally good to you.
The multiple layers really soled it for me.

So many comments focused on issues completely unrelated to this terrible situation. I’m not really sure what y’all think they should’ve done. Just let the mom and baby die together?

Trying to gaslight everyone into believing that apple music isn’t shit is naïve at best, complicit at worst.

Ech@lemm.eeto World News@lemmy.world•Revealed: Thousands of UK university students caught cheating using AIEnglish5·18 days agoEveryone should care about the efficacy of the education system. It’s the foundation of a useful society, and essential for its betterment. This method of cheating and its rate of adoption is a major blow to a whole generation of students that will learn to have others think for them instead of leaning to think for themselves.
Ech@lemm.eeto World News@lemmy.world•Revealed: Thousands of UK university students caught cheating using AIEnglish32·18 days agoThis is a story ask about the UK, not the US, though I imagine the situation is similar.
Ech@lemm.eeto World News@lemmy.world•Revealed: Thousands of UK university students caught cheating using AIEnglish12·18 days agoIt’s absolutely cheating - it’s plagiarism. It’s no different in that regard than copying a paper found online, or having someone else write the paper for you. It’s also a major self-own - these students have likely one opportunity to better themselves through higher education, and are trashing that opportunity with this shit.
I do agree that institutions need to adapt. Edit history is an interesting idea, though probably easy to work around. Imo, direct teacher-student interfacing would be the most foolproof, but also incredibly taxing on time and effort for teachers. It would necessitate pretty substantial changes to current practices.
Somehow even less useful, since the source can’t even be verified.
