This thing has engines but the sails work too. The first ship Gotheborg sank just outside Sweden when returning from its 3rd voyage. A second, larger ship was built titled Gotheborg II which was lost during its 3rd voyage. Now this one, Gotheborg III technically, managed to finish its 3rd tour.
I thought the third one burned down, fell over, and then sank into the swamp, and it was the fourth one that stood up.
Honestly if that thing pulls out I’m expecting Davey Fucking Jones to be in command.
Imagine hearing “hey, hey, we’re the Monkees” blaring from a loudspeaker as a mast emerges from a fog bank.
The arrival of the Götheborg on the scene was rapid and surprising, as we did not expect to see a merchant ship from the East India Company of the 18th-century. This moment was very strange, and we wondered if we were dreaming. Where were we? What time period was it?

I’d assume pirates.
Ghost pirates
“Man we haven’t even got to touch the Gotheborg even once since we installed those engines…”
- Calling all coast guards, ship in distress needs towing
JUST towing!? Let’s go bois!!!
Thank you, now the limewire song is stuck in my head…
