But don’t take something from a sole-developer (meaning in this case labor is actually getting all the fruits of their labor instead of a CEO), use one of the other options instead where the developers aren’t using it as their main source of income.

It is not unethical to choose what kind of traffic I want to allow on my device.
Yup. I block all ads by default, and yet I still bought the lifetime ultra subscription simply because the developer is an awesome guy.
But ads don’t stand a chance on my phone.
