My comment doesn’t add to this conversation, but I’m curious about why you quote the entirety of the comment that you were responding directly to.

I’m not going to tell you what you can and can’t do, but it seems pointless and a waste of screen space to me, so I’d like to understand why some people do this if you don’t mind sharing.

It’s really not a big deal though, I’m just interested in the why.

My guess has always been that it’s a habit from forum days. Does that ring true for you?

I intentionally misspelled Richard Pryor’s name, as a joke response to him saying George Carling instead of George Carlin.

Wanted to make sure the joke didn’t die in case he saw the mistake and edited it. 😂

Thanks for the response (and follow-ups). I’m embarrassed to admit I was so distracted by the quote that I entirely missed your misspelling, even though I noticed the other one!

Naw you nailed the joke but markko has a good point as well. I wouldve quoted after the ellipses, personally, but my internettiquette is still very much a product of my play-by-post RPG forum days.

However, you do you man, and I hope you have a good day!

Lol I don’t disagree, but I’m lazy and on Boost it’s easier to just quote-reply the whole comment instead of editing it down.

          Have a splendid day yourself!
