Israel was taken by surprise by the most ambitious operation Hamas has ever launched from Gaza.

The scale of what’s been happening is unprecedented. Hamas breached the wire that separates Gaza from Israel in multiple places in the most serious cross-border attack Israel has faced in more than a generation.

It came a day after the 50th anniversary of the surprise attack by Egypt and Syria in 1973 that started a major Middle East war. The significance of the date will not have been lost on the Hamas leadership.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says his country is at war and will exact a heavy price from its enemies.

Videos and photos of dead Israelis, civilians as well as soldiers, are all over social media.

Wow look at that you said something that wasn’t totally braindead, and actually managed to not stereotype all Palestinians as religious extremist terrorists! Great job!

Now focus your energy on the oppressor instead of blaming Israel and Hamas equally, and maybe read a book on the situation before u keep talking about it.

and you learned nothing. And you refused to engage with or acknowledge any information that complicates your opinion that Palestine = innocent victim. You won’t admit out loud that Palestinians refused to live in peace with Israel, just as Israel has refused to live in peace with Palestine.

I wonder which of us is arriving at an informed worldview, and which of us is DunningKrugering around the internet name-calling.

          and you learned nothing

Because you didn’t add anything to the conversation. Please give me some actual information on the Palestine-Israel situation that I don’t know so I can fucking learn something.

And you refused to engage with or acknowledge any information that complicates your opinion that Palestine = innocent victim

Not true at all, and I never claimed Palestine = innocent victim, you’re putting words in my mouth like idiots do when they’re losing an argument. You have to argue against shit I didn’t say to have a response that isn’t “you’re right I should educate myself on this topic which I have demonstrated I know far less about”.

You’re the one that ignored my request for a source on women in Palestine being stoned.

You won’t admit out loud that Palestinians refused to live in peace with Israel, just as Israel has refused to live in peace with Palestine.

We’re not speaking out loud so of course I didn’t say that out loud, fucking genius.

And again, the fact that you would make that statement at all showcases your complete and utter lack of understanding of the nature of the conflict. It’s painfully obvious how fucking ignorant you are. Hamas actually started out trying to work things out through diplomatic channels, but Israel went behind their backs, cut them out, and intentionally sabotaged peace talks throughout the history of the conflict. They (Hamas) started adopting the horrific methods employed today after many attempts by many members to resolve things without violence.

I’m not going to explain the entire history of the Palestine-Israel conflict to you, but Palestinians (not all, some are militant) have been striving for and advocating for peace at the hands of their oppressor Israel who murders many times more innocent people, YOU JUST DON’T WANT TO HEAR IT.

I don’t wonder which of us is arriving at an informed worldview, it’s the one reading books and informing themselves on situations before commenting on them. (not you)

Ironic that you’d bring up Dunning-Kruger when it’s been painfully obvious to me for some time that you actually have no idea what you’re talking about, yet continue to pretend to have some level of knowledge, despite your “knowledge” being glittering generalities, outright falsehoods, total misconceptions about the nature of people and groups, and an utter lack of understanding of the overall nature of the conflict.

It’s like when an actor is playing a nerd and they say a bunch of computer terms but they’re using them wrong and to anyone who knows computers they’re just saying a bunch of nonsensical shit. That’s what it’s like reading your comments about Palestine.

GO EDUCATE YOURSELF, STOP SITTING IN IGNORANCE. If you need book recommendations, I’m happy to provide a few. But stop spewing BS when you do obviously have no fucking idea what you’re talking about.
