My “uncle” (M/75) (not blood, but acted as my uncle my entire childhood/adult life) posed this question to me (F/53): “If you won’t freak out, I’ll tell you something very personal” (This is a text communication).

TIFU by telling him it was OK for him to tell me and then I also FU by not doing anything about what he told me.

He said, “I fell in love with you the moment I met you. Problem was you were 11 and I was 33. When you came of age, I was already married or I would’ve asked you to marry me.”

I honestly didn’t know what to say. Tried to brush it off as something dumb but I’m completely disturbed by it. We just got back in touch after a few years and I’m wanting to cut him off. Or do I blow it off?
