“I hate working from home because whenever someone says “their furry coworker” I don’t know if they mean their cat or their sysadmin”
If I have a meeting booked in with the infosec team, and someone shows up with blue hair, cat ear headphones, and they/them pronouns, I know I’m dealing with an expert.
This has happened to me multiple times at multiple companies, and they’ve always been very good at their jobs.
òwó Your ERP checklist; hand it over… úwù pwease?
Proof that office norms exclude talented people.
I’m a sr. software engineer and you best believe I spam furry emotes at my coworkers. In my experience and in the companies I’ve worked at, most people who are even moderately talented operate with a relaxed attitude. As long as they get their deliverables done, don’t worry about how they do it. If you’ve got a problem with them they’ll take another offer in a week.
Edit: Also, I’d like to note that I think this behavior is healthy. People should be allowed to be themselves at work. I often joke about people putting on their “corporatesonas” at work.

I hate mine, it’s going in the trash bit by bit. What a boring, miserable and insecure guy that was.
And look at you now! An adorable little hyena!
Aw, thank you, but
EDIT: Ah fuck, that wasn’t meant to be innuendo
Hey, I’m not a size queen.
This is always how I’ve managed a team. If someone is asleep at the desk, rollerblading on the roof, but gets all their work done, I’m happy. If someone just looks busy all the time and is dressed nice, but constantly causes issues I’m a hot little potato.
It sucks because this is how it should be but all my leadership cares about is time tracking and metrics
The wrong metrics though, because lazy metrics with no thought put into them are easy!
We call em worksonas
Usually whatever the talented people push for in terms of benefits ends up helping all the coworkers cuz they’ll get em too
“Is someone barking over here?”
That’s Information Security Operations, sir.
“Oh! Well tell them to carry on then.”“I, uh… I’m a gay cat on the internet.”
It’s heterochromia
When he has homophobia in his eyes 🤩
DUTCH IS A WOLF! But yes…
My apologies. A gay wolf, then uwu
i was referencing demo finds spy’s fursona but yes
Hmmm, Maybe a Rat
Damn, if that’s the case, how and where can I please surround myself with cybersecurity experts? Please… for security purposes of course.
We’re everywhere (a student here). Just ask any time, on literally any platform with a dense population of geeks (like Lemmy). For even more results / accidentally summoning an army of furries, ask on random Linux forums or StackOverflow. Just be aware all the Arch users will be gay (so that’s where to look of you’re into that).
all Arch users are gay and 50% are trans
I have the other problem. I work in cybersecurity (research), where are the furries?
I know a guy who actually works like the guy in the first picture but he wears hawaii shirts and shorts. I guess some people are built different.
