Beginning July 6, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will now cost $16.99 (a $2 increase), and regular Xbox Game Pass will now cost $10.99 monthly (a $1 increase). However, the price of PC Game Pass will remain at $9.99 a month.
That’s a fairly small increase for what it includes. Also, no increase on PC, which seems odd.
They have more competition on PC, I guess. They don’t have to worry about Steam Sales, Epic’s game giveaways, and so on for Xbox consoles.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they see more cancellations on PC, too. I subscribe sometimes, then cancel for a while as I play other things, then resubscribe months later.
The Verge has a great chart showing the price changes for non-US subscriptions. Interesting that the US is getting spared from the Series X console price increase.
Maybe they are comparing the cost of shipping and inflation with different countries and the US is their base?
