Genocide is a war crime, why does Canada still have ANY relationship with a war crime committing state? Canada’s obligation under international law is to oppose genocide, not enable it.
Because the Israeli government has very effectively weaponized the holocaust against critics, and politicians are very sensitive to that kind of thing.
The big thing that needs to come out of this fuckup is just a postmortem on how their lobbying worked so well, for such a long time. Western genocides were supposed to stay in the 20th century.
The Holocaust is probably a major part of it. Evangelical mysticism fits in there somehow too.
