Hello, everyone. I’ve been thinking about getting the WF-1000XM5, but I’m not sure if it’s a good investment. I’ve heard that the WF-1000XM4 had a major battery drainage problem. Is this still the case with the WF-1000XM5?

Right now, I am using the WH-CH710N. They’ve been great, but recently they started to break. They still work, but the ANC doesn’t isolate the same way on the right ear as in the left ear, and they aren’t really compact. So I’m looking for an upgrade. I know that over-ear headphones are superior when talking ANC, but they aren’t as compact as in-ear. I’ve also heard that the AirPods Pro are a good option. But as an Android user, I usually tend to avoid Apple products.

Do you guys have any recommendations?

I avoid in-ear because in my experience, they cause problems inside the ear (pushing dirt deep inside, causing inflammation), or they randomly fall out when I move around or when I relax. If I didn’t experience these problems, I would be very happy with the sound quality of the Pixel Buds Pro.

I use headphones several hours a day, mostly to talk over the phone. I have been using Shokz Openrun Pro. The sound quality is fine on my side, and even better for the people I am talking to. It is Bluetooth, and uses bone conduction, making it less susceptible to pick up and transmit noise around me. They leave the ear uncovered, so I can safely use them outside.

For listening to music or watching videos with great sound quality from my computer, I plug in Sony MDR 7506. Those cover the ear and use a wire. The sound quality is amazing for that price. They are great for plugging into a musical instrument as there is no delay like you get with Bluetooth.

If I need Bluetooth with noise cancelling and superior sound quality on my phone or computer, I fall back on my Bose NC 700 HP, which are more expensive, but worth the money for me. They cover the ear, are very comfortable, have excellent sound quality, but are bulkier than the Shokz.

All these are expensive but they don’t seem to break, over years of daily use.
