The only few reason I know so far is software availability, like adobe software, and Microsoft suite. Is there more of major reasons that I missed?

    what desktop env and when? Did you use Wine? Maybe you’ve used a wayland DE before it implemented support for disabling forced VSync. Also standard linux kernel is pretty bloated and any optimizations are pretty generalized and server-focused. But you don’t have to use gentoo, there are realtime kernels or projects like the Zen kernel which you can just install using your package manager. Other than that, you can enable some sysctl optimizations just like you can modify registry values on Win.
