Hi there, i have my wallpanel set up with fully kiosk browser since Lewis from everything smart home released his video about it couple days ago. Now i am waiting on my friend who is printing out the wallmounting for me, but until then i have a last problem.

I use Z2M in HA OS and my house is from concrete and bricks, but not that large, 80m2, but the signal is very poor, so i bought couple routers, smart plugs and gas detector, so my network got a bit better, but it was not enough. So i bought the ikea signal repeater and have put this at the center of my appartement, which is 2 meters from the zigbee coordinator which is a sonoff. so this solved all my issues.

But now i want to put my wall tablet at the power outlet where i have the ikea signal repeater, because this is the center and there is no other logical place for it, because of how the walls and furniture are placed. So that is nice that i can use the ikea repeater as a usb charger for the wall tablet.

The problem is i want to use a charge automation for the tablet for battery health. It is not possible to use a in wall zigbee relay like a shelly or tuya ones, i have one in another outlet, but this one is to small, undeep and has to many wires in it because it is connected to other points etc.

So one of the questions i have, how close can 2 zigbee routers be next to each other, because the smart plugs don’t give enough signal repeating in my apartment, and the ikea one does, so i don’t want to put it elsewhere if not needed, because my mesh network is finally good.

The other question is can it be done on the tablet it self with automations or something with an extra app? I use a Samsung galaxy tab a7.

Thought about keeping it always on the ikea repeater and always charging, but a lot of people online states that this is not the smart thing to do. My main concern is that the battery can swell and explode or something. I don’t care if the battery would not work anymore if i get the tablet of the wall, because it is for the wallpanel and i will not use it anymore for something else.
