FLORENCEVILLE-BRISTOL, N.B. – New Brunswick’s government has rejected a pitch to replace the RCMP with a regional police force in the western part of the province. District of Carleton North Mayor Andrew Harvey told council this week he was disappointed in the province’s decision. Why not have both instead of replacing the RCMP?
Yes it would be expensive but if residents want more coverage, that would be one way to increase it.
Metro cops are more expensive and less-trained. It’s just a cost-benefits thing.
