They are working with outdated, unsafe systems. It’s probably super stressful compared to running a modern network where you have a bunch of automated safety checks and know exactly where all the trains are.

For me it’s the iOS 15 support, Mlem has targeted iOS 16 which doesn’t work on my 6s.
