The guys who’ve named daddy longlegs have taken all the provisioned silliness for the next few centuries.

Realistically, I don’t think so either. Pessimistically, I give it until Jan 1st, 2030.
Absolutely yes. Which I’d also assume to be part of the reason brands coming around with memes are always so late to the party. The legal issues and getting the consent of all copyright holders (if even known at that point) is going to be a pain in any legal department’s ass. I doubt it would be much different for a private meme exhibit.
Of course, by 2100, there would be a historical context to view it from.
I wasn’t expecting a serious answer but you’re absolutely right!
Time to get the Meme Collage of Alexandria going.
If that somehow catches on fire, you can at least re-establish the phrase “This meme is lit”.
I actually struggle with the same mental image. Anybody born after 2000 still goes to school in my mind.
I can’t describe the reaction I always have inside when I consciously realize that post-2000 kids can actually be adults. Not just because I realize how screwed my perception of time is but also because I suddenly feel old.
You know, if they aim not to repeat a Cities Skylines 2, that is entirely valid. I’m just a bit salty they eradicated the native Linux ports.
Haha, you’re so silly! The meme says 10 years ago and not— …
My god, it really has been ten years since 2014, hasn’t it?
Whew, I’ve thought this was a photo of my chest type freezer, for a split second!
To be fair, you may not always want a permanent fix for everything. Mostly because the most permanent solution will always be a temporary one. :v
Oh neat, AI can imitate my internal monologue while writing a business e-mail!
With all the very valid talking points that float around the Internet and here, the most important one is how sloppy Sony’s data security has been throughout the years. The breaches during the last decade simply stripped every piece of trust from me. That’s why I’m not a fan of PSN, even if you could argue it’s just “yet another account”.
But unless near everybody refuses to buy these PC games and cut into the sales of Sony through boycott, I don’t see Sony stopping it.
I mean, I do remember T-Mobile and BurgerKing “sponsorships” in older Need for Speed games.
Probably something of a guarantee that he can take a paid vacation day on New Year’s Eve. It’s just that this whole thing feels wrong. Maybe it’s my bias against American retailers speaking but making a certain guaranteed vacation day a prize for online reviews feels utterly dystopian to me. It would be less bad if it was an additional vacation day, but this is Walmart we’re talking about.
I struggle putting my feeling into words one-by-one, but this is roughly my sentiment.
To make your own distro, you will need two key things: a budget and people. Given how cutting budgets is also a thing with many government things, you run into danger of lesser maintenance standards of the distro as time progresses. Be it important as it may, the institutions will have to shell out money to make and support a standardized system. Using a mainstream or larger existing distro that also covers enterprise use cases can at least offset some of these troubles. Being able to and actually making it a reality are two different things, sadly.
