Weird fantasy to kill kids. You might need some help.
Guys just mad that individuals make choices to better the world around them. He wants to keep consuming and feel good about it.
Only vegetarian at the moment but maybe someday.
People aren’t going to do anything about the increasing temperatures of the planet until it affects them directly. When people have no place to run from the heat I expect things would change politically. Sure it could just mean we double down and further fuck the planet, but a bunch of hot and angry people would be more likely to eat the rich in my head. Right now some people are mad about it but as long as they can crawl back into their hole and enjoy some comfort however short sighted nothing will change, and our grandchildren will have to suffer for our insistence on what little luxury we have at this time.
Much of the world will become uninhabitable in the future due to our arrogance and greed. I’m sorry if your choice of living in the desert causes you to suffer disproportionately.
You’re probably right, better just put my head back in the sand and hope the world burns down around me and leaves me in tact. Guess there’s nothing we can do.
I think it would be helpful for many people to experience the world without the luxury of ac. It uses a huge amount of power and in most places it’s just a convenience. I haven’t run the AC in something like 18 months not. It’s been in the upper 90s here in the states and my house has gotten up to about 86 inside. I work outside so even a few degrees cooler feels great. At night with a couple fans in the window it goes back down to mid 70s.
I understand that some places get a lot hotter and corporations are to blame for a larger percentage of our climate issue, but we shouldn’t expect to live in luxury while the planet catches on fire around us. All that said I think people would give more of a fuck if they didn’t sit around all day in a climate controlled environment.
Still better than the 5day 50hr work week I’m burdened with in the US atm.
I’m in the situation where it’s hot as fuck out (I don’t run the ac) so it’s become the opposite game, how low can I get the temperature.
Maybe he should step down about it
Most of the year I work 8 to 6-8 few months in the winter its 8-430. With a forced 30min unpaid lunch.
I’ve been with this company long enough for to get 15 vacation days a year and 7 personal days even still I have to compete with 300 some people for those days off and only 2 are allowed on any given day and none are approved in the summer if they weren’t requested a year in advance. I’d be happy to not take all the pto if the company would just pay me out for those days at the end of the year or let them keep rolling over but it’s a use it or lose it situation.
So a happy meal with no toy.
I’ve gone the other way with this. I’ve significantly cut my spending down in the last couple years. No more eating out, no vacations, grow my own food, don’t eat meat, no ac and minimal heating to only to keep pipes from freezing. Even with all that and more I’m spending as much as I did a few years ago but a much more restricted lifestyle. Be cool if my pay rate kept up with this inflation but my union agreed to a shit contract just before all this started.
I have a closed 5gal bucket that I empty once a week and keep the recycling in spare cardboard boxes and take them down the street to the center whenever I get enough to fill my car
I only fill up a trash bag maybe once every 2 weeks. I only take the can down once a month since there’s so little waste. Between composting and recycling there’s so little that actually gets thrown out.
A Big Mac combo is almost 20$?!? Who the fuck would buy that?
unsweetened almond milk has minimal carbs, and not much you can do about fruit since its all pretty much all sweet but the fiber is good to make you feel fuller.
All that power to print monopoly money or disney dollars.
Businessmen live like this and think it’s normal.
