According to a top-loud and repeating PSA in a doctors office I was stuck in for too long, the toast thing is a myth.

I’ve been fascinated by propaganda all my life, and being able to take exactly what people are actually doing and twist it using an ingrained cultural perspective is so incredibly easy and effective.

They specifically used r/buyitforlife as an example of how to market on Reddit. Thing is that the trustworthiness came from users and this will dilute the trust in that sub rendering it useless. I hate what they have become.
