Someone in that org needs to be an adult and say no to pointless rebrands and brain dead consolidation. Literally nobody, even Google, is benefiting from this spastic behavior.
Science and expert opinion should be respected, “your own research” is usually worthless, Black Lives Matter, Taiwan is a country, Love is Love, and Trans Rights are Human Rights.
No nazis or tankies, thanks.

That’s a referral to a series of specialists and probably an MRI or two at minimum. Cancer is a deeply shitty way to die, go talk to your doctor ASAP.
Then what’s the stuff in your original post about “being afraid of ideas?” Which ideas, exactly, were you referring to? Being nominally Communist and functionally Fascist?
The CCP are not an ethnic or national group, they’re a malevolent political movement and opposing them is the farthest thing from xenophobia. They run China and create untold misery for Chinese citizens. Being originally from Singapore does not mean you’re not working for the CCP and that is absolutely relevant to this situation. Data privacy is one issue, nation state surveillance is another. There are quantitative and qualitative differences between them and both must be addressed. Google, Meta, and Amazon et al need to be reigned in, broken up, and some board members should see jail time. TikTok, (yet another front for the CCP like ALL Chinese Corps), needs to be handled differently and the CCP’s malfeasance should be exposed and talked about.
Compare and contrast Huawei and say, Cisco. Cisco’s equipment is occasionally annoying and bad for consumers and their business practices suck. Huawei equipment is a national security risk. Big difference and you can’t even get into that without referencing the CCP because they’re driving it.
Tom Cotton’s a dipshit and worded the question in the dumbest possible way, but stopped clock, etc.
What the fuck? The CCP is no more Communist than North Korea is a Democratic Republic. I don’t give a shit about the CCP’s ideas because there’s only one they seem to care about: power. You can tell because of how they treat their own people. Corporations operating out of China are either controlled by the CCP behind the scenes or their leadership gets disappeared if they get too critical. It’s happened a number of times; ask Jack Ma and several others … if you can find them.
The fucking CCP is every bit as bad as the damned Nazis and anyone that simps for them should go live under their regime. I’m sure you’ll have a great social credit score. Just don’t depict Emperor Xi as Winnie the Pooh or watch the fuck out.

Hey, it’ll be ok. Let me show you a reassuring article. https://simpleflying.com/2023-aviation-safety/
It was actually a pretty safe year for aviation. Yeah, there have been problems, but you’re more likely to be inconvenienced than anything. Hope you have an excellent vacation!
Well you see, the shooter runs through the detector, their guns are detected, and then we ask them politely, but firmly, to leave. Mass shooting averted!
I’ve only ever seen an executive be punished for one thing: bad mouthing the company. Anything else they skate on. Accountability and consequences are for the peons.
Honestly this is peak feels and vibes based management. Buncha dipshits throwing all the data out the window because they’re lonely and want someone to lord it over.
What specifically did you find janky? Except for the one CTD bug I encountered (and spent hours fixing) everything seemed pretty fair. I completed all ten main story missions with no major issues with difficulty. I died some, but was always able to figure out a way to approach each encounter that made sense and didn’t require exploits.
I’m not some elite gamer either; I’m a 41 year old dad.
Honestly felt it was pretty doable so long as you suited your tactics to the situation. This means you also have to build the skill of sizing up an encounter and selecting the right tool for it.
My problem with it was the thing that spit clocks. Took me forever to troubleshoot that issue and it was a hard crash to desktop type situation. Why that would be allowed to persist years after release is beyond me.
My workplace has a nepotism policy. It generally applies to managing or hiring people who you know personally (household members, close family, etc). It does not refer to name recognition.
You’re misusing the term.
Yeah I don’t know about “likely” but it’s not a bad thing to have.
Cool, I’ma go tell my wife something we disagree on is idiotic and we’ll see how it goes. Should be fine, right? It’s not combative!
What an idiotic comparison.
.
…is incredibly reductive and combative. The world needs less of that, not more.
Be the change, homie.
In any case, do recall that many of us are in enterprise environments where we’re not the only decision makers. Plus, FOSS without reliable support contracts isn’t workable for many use cases. If something in FOSS goes tits up none of my customers will be satisfied with the great discussion I had with the devs about it and how they’ll totally get to it after Furrycon.
You might not be paying for software in money but you’re going to pay for it, one way or another.
Sometimes I wonder if the admin is just … waiting for the Israelis to finish it. Like, they’ve decided that this is going to be an eternal conflict until someone decisively “wins.” Unfortunately the winning condition for both Likud and Hamas appears to be 100% enemy casualties.
Everyone’s backed into a corner here. The various Arab nations that have hated Israel since its’ modern inception and hated Jews for a LONG time before that want Israel gone, Likud seems to want Hamas and most Palestinians gone.
There’s no way out of this until everyone agrees everyone else gets to live.
If the US just washes its hands of the whole thing tomorrow we might have another regional war that could escalate unpredictably. If they pressure Israel to cease-fire, the various PACs start throwing money around (though I think they have less power than politicians are afraid of, honestly - money can only do so much).
I have no idea how you even begin to negotiate with Hamas or whoever’s running the show in the West Bank. The whole thing is a massive clusterfuck and anybody with a neat, simple solution is either a genocidal maniac or delusional.
How would you be “pushed?” Who would do it?
What does a random surgery being “pushed” on you have to do with this conversation? Did it have anything to do with gender? What do you mean by this?
I’m asking all these questions in attempt to discuss this in good faith.
Oh it’s not, dead, it’s just changed shape so we don’t immediately recognize it. This, for example, is an ad for about 5 different games.
Notice how the brands were mentioned. Notice how much more palatable this is as a delivery system for that sweet brand awareness. They’re making statements we agree with! They’re demonstrating values that align with our own.
Now look it’s video games so I really don’t mind. This is certainly nicer than what we had in the 90s and 2000s (which were occasionally hilarious but I digress) , but I still want to raise awareness a bit. Larian isn’t the only company that rolls this way. Thing is, they’re probably not even lying, but an executive at a company does media like this for a reason.
This is them “speaking to you.”
