I see. I think auto gets overused a lot by people just being lazy about writing out the full type, but constexpr is good practice in my opinion. Never had a compiler issue with them, but then I don’t think I’ve ever used a nested lambda either.

DickFiasco@sh.itjust.worksto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•how do school shooters know how to use guns?17·18 days agoYou can learn how to use almost any gun in about five minutes. Have a friend or family member that lets you take some practice shots in their backyard? Now you know enough to be dangerous.
What’s wrong with constexpr?

To be fair, Blackboard works fine; the problem is this company’s half-assed attempt to make their own training modules.

DickFiasco@sh.itjust.worksto Linux@lemmy.ml•Office workers - Has anyone here convinced their boss to let them install a Linux distro on their work desktop?4·2 months agoMy work allows RHEL, but it’s a specialized configuration that doesn’t get updated very often. I tried it for a while but it was so out of date that I couldn’t build half the tools I needed, so I ended up switching back to Windows. It was about 10-15 years ago when the C++ standard was undergoing a lot of changes, and the company-approved version of GCC was several years old and didn’t support any of the newest features.

So they elected candidates who historically have opposed labor protections and government benefits, and then expected to get paid sick leave?
