There’s @loops@pixelfed.social, which is getting a beta release soon
There’s a lot of FOSS music apps that just use YTMusic, like ViMusic or the ones other people mentioned in their replies. For maps, I use Organic Maps, the only thing I feel like is missing from it is traffic jams but I think you can see why that would be hard to add. It does have features that Google Maps doesn’t have tho.
That would be nice but I’m gonna try if I can get it working by myself first. Haven’t tried it in quite a while, so maybe it works now for some reason.
But wasn’t the point of the post that it should, in theory, be possible to use a single account for all the different services by having a client that supports them all, since these different services federate with each other? I don’t know if that’s currently possible without making changes on the backend but if you need different accounts for each service, even if it’s handled on the back-end, that kinda goes against the whole point of the post, no?
I use an xbox one controller too and it just worked out of the box on Arch and Fedora
I know, I was just replying to the part I was quoting. Point is, hosting that web client wouldn’t be an issue.
But where would a unified Web client run in the first place? It would have to be installed on a Web server and, from there, access the Web servers of the various different server apps which would still be entirely different and independent installations.
There are already web clients for the fediverse, like Photon for Lemmy
But also, considering that at one point in Tumblr’s history, you could edit other people’s posts, maybe it is an improvement.
What 😭
If you buy a used one, you can probably get it a good but cheaper as well
I think there’s also similar devices to a Raspberry Pi that are cheaper
I also have a fingerprint reader in the screen but I feel like the one on the back of my Redmi 5 Plus was more reliable. It’s not a dealbreaker tho.
You can already charge wirelessly. As for the speakers, Samsung has an OLED TV that vibrates the glass of the screen to produce sound, maybe something similar would be possible on a phone too. Don’t know if something similar would be possible for the mic.
Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t want a phone like that but it would be cool to see if it’s possible.
Hab ich tatsächlich schon gemacht, aber iwie funktioniert das noch nicht ganz. Weil ich selber nicht rausfinden konnte warum, hab ich grad nen post gemacht wo ich nach Hilfe frage.
I really hope another headset from Valve is coming, specifically because of eye tracking. The oculus app is only needed if you’re not using ALVR. It’s also not available on Linux, which is why ALVR is the only option there.
It’s a shame DRM leasing doesn’t work for flatpak but maybe it will in the future. I tried the AppImage but it’s the same issue, I can’t build a profile because the dependencies are missing.
Thanks, I’m gonna selfhost it then. What you said about the piped components sounds interesting, is there like a list of them?
I have, actually and it’s great. I only used it for things like racing games (I also have a USB steering wheel with force feedback) because it doesn’t show you the borders of your play space (yet). The thing is just that I installed Envision from the AUR back then and it just worked and now that I’m on Fedora, I used distrobox to install it from the AUR again. When I try to build a profile tho, it tells me that dependencies are missing that simply aren’t in the package manager or the AUR. That’s why I currently don’t have Monado working. I’d really like to get it working again tho. Wish it just had a Flatpak.
Can’t you download FTB modpacks through Prism too?
