I had a much higher tolerance for bad movies when I was younger, like early twenties. Now if a movie is really bad I just turn it off, no loss. The last one was Madame Webb, what a mess. I just watched Borderlands and that’s about the worst movie I can sit through.

  • Falconry in the US exists as an exclusion from the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. Both of these laws make it illegal to disrupt or possess native birds or their parts. Falconers successfully petitioned the government to let them take wild raptors from the wild as long as falconers themselves regulate the participants. If the falconers are not being respectful of the birds it would be incredibly easy to strip their privileges.

In the same sense RC flying is a privilege from the FAA after too many people flew drones into airports and HAM is a privilege from the FCC to keep people from jacking up the airwaves.

  • I think those only need 1 test to play with them, and that’s because they are regulated by the government. They want people to follow the rules because if they don’t it can come down on all of them.

The biggest one of these that I know of is falconry which requires 1 falconry test, 1 hunt test, 1 inspection, and finding a two year sponsor. Falconry is specifically set up to gatekeep as to protect the sport in the USA.

  • Hmmm yes, the 10 commandments are so relevant to laws in the US. Let’s go through them.

I am the LORD your God; you shall not have strange gods before me.

    • explicitly allowed freedom of religion

You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.

    • explicitly allowed freedom of speech

Remember to keep holy the LORD’s Day.

    • nope

    Honor your father and mother.

    • don’t have to, in fact the state will remove children from parents without honoring their wishes

    You shall not kill.

    • not really ground breaking stuff

    You shall not commit adultery.

    • shitty but not illegal

    You shall not steal.

    • wow, amazing

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

    • good rule but seems like “don’t lie maliciously” covers more.

You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife.

    • seems appropriate to teach to elementary kids

You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods.

    • coveting our neighbors goods is like 50% of the US economy. And also the basis of manifest destiny.

Might as well have made “Treat others the way you want to be treated” state mandated curriculum, that’s more relevant than the 10 commandments.

  • How do I know if I’m logging into the computer with it?

Are you signing into your computer with the same username and password as your university office or email account? Or one that you made when setting it up, or a personal Microsoft account?

also how to check the onedrive syncing files?

I don’t use OneDrive but maybe in OneDrive settings it will show the path or folder syncs. I would google this one.

  • If you are not logging into the computer with your school account they probably do not have direct access to the device. If you are using office365 and have online files they probably have access to them. Maybe if you have OneDrive set up to sync folders with your school account they could have access that way.

There is no one school environment though so it would be impossible for us to know exactly how it is set up.
