You can also play with it to try and get closer to correct. I had problems with getting an Excel macro working and getting unattended-updates working on my pihole. GPT was wrong at first, but got me partly there and I could massage the question and Google and get closer to the right answer. Without it, I wouldn’t have been able to get any of it, especially with the macro.
Did you get a browser error when trying this? It might be because you left the www in the URL. I had to remove that and replace it with old, and it works. The rest of the link structure is the same on both old and new reddit. I even tried it from a VPN just to be sure it wasn’t seeing my logged in cookies, and in a private browsing window where RES isn’t allowed to run. Worked fine.
Private Internet Access works for me. Just tested logged out in an incognito mode tab.
Interesting. I’ll have to test it when I get home. I’m always signed in and I use RES so could be some other factors causing it to not be a problem for me.

That is basically what they did. There are a decent amount of third party apps around that work. I personally use Narwhal.
The further we get from the whole third party app debacle, the more I think this was just a way to kill the most popular apps. The ones that people said made reddit worth using. The ones that got shouted out in Apple keynotes.

Did people call RCS open source? I’m not a huge follower of the standard, but I don’t think I ever heard that said. In fact, I’ve heard people complain about not just the proprietary encryption but lack of E2E and carrier/Google control.
Its only advantages are that it is better than SMS and supported by the carriers, Google and Apple sometime this year.

EDIT: I actually don’t think this is correct. I just went to the sign up page and it does have buttons to create an account using Google or Apple OAuth (I assume) but there is a field under those two buttons for just any email. Put in my Outlook.com email and it accepted it and went to the next page where I could create my user name and password.
The very idea is absurd. It is so counter productive to the idea of rehabilitation. The prisons themselves say they aren’t a significant revenue stream. Trying to offset the cost of a societal need by charging fees to prisons doesn’t even make any sense. And the companies that are tasked with collecting this debt get 70% of what they collect which means that even the argument about offsetting the state’s cost doesn’t make sense.
It’s profit seeking, counter productive cruelty and that’s it. Just shameful.
It’s why I cancelled last year. I got it for free through my FIOS Internet connection for a few years, but after that went away I paid for a year. But the price increase was just not worth the like 2 shows and maybe one movie that I watched on it a year.

My understanding is that the feeling of suffocation is only due to a build up of CO2. So filling a room (or a mask I guess in this case) should not cause that feeling. Existential dread, fear, etc are obviously not affected, but it shouldn’t feel like they’re being strangled and can’t breathe.
You’re right though, in that obviously doing something inhumane such as killing people can’t be made humane. Its a paradox. And with our system specifically, I don’t think there is a way to do the death penalty “right” because the system isn’t just. Or even effective and logical.
I agree that it is insane. But considering that I live in a country with an unhinged gun culture, it is part of life.
And weirdly, you have to strike a balance. You don’t want to be complacent and forget you’re carrying a gun or treat it like it isn’t the deadly weapon that it is. But you have to be comfortable and familiar enough with it to be able to go about your day and be able to reliably draw and fire accurately if a situation occurs where the gun is necessary. Otherwise, there is no point in carrying at all.
Maybe a good comparison is driving or operating heavy machinery? You need to be aware at all times that you are operating something that could kill you and others in an instant at all times. You need to know where you are, where others are, etc. But you also need to be comfortable and familar enough with your vehicle or equipment that you can operate it smoothly and react to unforseen events.

I have no idea how anyone can “forget” they are carrying. I carried fairly regularly for years before letting my CCW expire during COVID. And I was always VERY aware that I was carrying, checked regularly to make sure I wasn’t printing, and what places allowed and didn’t allow carrying.
To me, forgetting you are carrying a gun and going to the airport is a negligent as leaving your gun in a bathroom. It shows you are not treating it with the respect and caution that should be required in order to own a gun.

If you can’t afford basic necessities on minimum wage, the wage is too low and the job doesn’t deserve to exist IMO.
Especially when so many of the largest companies are profitable and making more and more money. This system is unsustainable. It also causes societal unrest which leads to extremism. I don’t understand the mindset behind it, the increasing polarization as things get more and more unaffordable seems to support the theory.
It really feels like drug users’ demand for drugs that don’t kill them would create a market for artisanal drugs, like with the alcohol industry.
If I had any interest in hard drugs, I would be terrified to use them now. I know we’re dealing with addicts who aren’t making good decisions, but aren’t there wealthy coke fiends? How can anyone snort lines at a party if they don’t know if it has all this lethal shit in it?
