“and himself, a true Democrat” uhh, Cuomo, you’re running as an independent after losing the Democratic primary. You’re opposing the Democrat Party. That’s the exact opposite of a Democrat.
ooh he means neoliberal corrupt corporate sellout. Got it.

and for workers who want to lose their jobs, and for tenants who want to be unable to pay their rent
“go get a job as an essential worker!”
ADHD medication abroad is something I’ve researched a bit, and my understanding is the USA is actually not the worse by any means. Many countries, including Japan, completely ban stimulants. While the financial burden should be easier with nations with single-payer healthcare, like Canada, there’s still often the drug regulation stigmas that the USA has.
AFAIK it’s only the under-developed nations that have easy access to Adderall. I found a rated world map on r/ADHD, but it just broadly rates “legality” and doesn’t seem that informative because the USA and Canada is in the friendliest category. Please correct me if you have other info.
This is exactly how I felt too. I’m a grown adult. I don’t want to be babied. I didn’t like being infantilized as a kid or teen, and I won’t tolerate it now. I wanted stimulants so I would be able to do better work for other people faster and with less stress on me. Help Me Help You… Or spit in my face, I guess, and we both suffer.
(Also, stimulants aren’t addictive. That’s DEA propaganda. The ADHD brain is just naturally prone to dependency.)
We need some wider medicine-decriminalization movement. End the War on Drugs. I was trying to rally one up with a few former IRL friends, but we’re in the USA and there’s 80 ongoing crisis every moment, so it just didn’t seem like something people would have time for.
I stopped talking to most people I knew because getting “i don’t do politics” as a dead-end to every response is just disheartening.
the “peaceful means” are We the People rolling over and allowing the alt-right to continue deploying military and Gestapo agents in our streets and communities.
We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless ― if the left allows it to be,"
~ Kevin Roberts, president of the Heritage Foundation, 2024
if everyone stops believing in peaceful change, the only thing that will be fucked is shareholder profits ;)
I fear exactly the same. I wish my fellow USAmericans had the courage of South Korea and Nepal.
what’s that? Nintendo’s supporting the Department of Homeland Security? I’m enraged. These woke devs putting politics in our games! I’m never buying another Nintendo product again! (If enough of us say it, maybe we can pressure Nintendo to sue?)
I’m genuinely unsure whether having Vance or Trump as president would be worse. I’m not sure whether Trump’s incompetency is saving or dooming us more.
USAmerican here. When was Silicon Valley good? It certainly was not during my lifetime. Mark Zuckerberg was spying on us well before the Trump administration. I recall watching Zuckerberg being made to testify by a panel of representatives in 2018 for actions well before the 2016 election. Well before the Crypto bubble and modern AI bubble, there was the dot com bubble. And these other leaders mentioned in the piece – Bill Gates, Elon Musk… they were in Silicon Valley well before the 21st century. Silicon Valley corporations were among the earliest working to strip product ownership with all-encompassing legal agreements and forced arbitration. It’s not that Silicon Valley “lost its way”; it Got it’s way.
