It’s common knowledge that the Russian military practices sexual violence internally. They are similar to the English boarding school system in how widespread it is. If this behavior is practiced on their own brethren, why would it not be acceptable to apply it in war? The use of sexual violence as a weapon of war was guaranteed the moment war was declared. If Ukraine is able to maintain its sovereignty, they will need to invest heavily in mitigating the extended effects of this trauma, or they will have widespread societal issues for decades, if not longer.

I’m sure when you come through, find the issue, and solve it that gives you a great feeling. You’re are correct that it’s additional stress managing, but if you can throw down with the frontline crew, you get respect other managers just don’t get and it can make it a little easier on that front.

I agree. I only have shallow knowledge of 40k, but the exploration of the history around the universe was very fascinating. I also think it’s interesting that this issue seems to occur with satire, particularly when involving fascism. It brings to mind starship troopers and the more recent helldivers, how so many miss the point. I can’t help but feel the glorification of the military and military service in many of today’s societies lends itself to this problem. The military is inherently authoritarian, against diversity (including diversity of thought), and intentionally dehumanizes “the enemy” (turns out, it isn’t easy to kill people). Couple this with an image of masculinity that centers around adversity at best, and violence at worst along with so many men who feel they have missed opportunities to meet this standard and you have a recipe for fascists. How do we address this within our society? I don’t have the answers, but we should all be thinking about it.

Well, we can blame both of our right-wing parties for contributing to the situation by enforcing the longest running embargo. The first break from this was during the Obama administration, but it was too little too late, and we immediately returned to the previous status quo.

I have an autism and anxiety diagnosis, but people often assume I have adhd. I say that to say that when shit hits the fan, folks tend to look to look to me, both in my professional and personal life. Maybe this is why I “love” the kitchen environment, especially when nothing is prepped and the tickets are hitting the floor. I’m surprised to see For Honor still going. That was the last game I ever pre-ordered. Even back then, I didn’t really pre-order, but the open beta was really good. Unfortunately the broken end game (it has been years, I can’t remember the exact mechanic) wasn’t revealed in the beta, so after about a week or two I hit that bullshit and it wasn’t fun and I never came back. I think I only got 40 hours of total play time, including the campaign. Lesson learned, though.

What hairnet to this young man is unfortunate, and I know the mother is grieving, but the chatbots did not kill her son. Her negligence around the firearm is more to blame, honestly. Regardless, he was unwell, and this was likely going to surface in one way or another. With more time for therapy and no access to a firearm, he may have been here with us today. I do agree, though, that sexual/romantic chatbots are not for minors. They are for adult weirdos.

I won’t play forza online anymore, rammers just ruin the entire experience. I understand incidental collisions, but that intential shit just isn’t fun. They really need to implement a system that can track intentional ramming and match those people with each other so they are stuck in a rammer hell, and the rest of us can just enjoy the game. Ideally, the system wouldn’t be visible and account bound so it will follow you in the sequels. This way way the people who get joy out of ruining things for others are only ruining things for other assholes.

I’ve done shrooms on many occasions, the experiences can be different based on setting. The most memorable was lying on my back in the mountains overnight with no light pollution watching as I seemed to move through stars/meteor shower while reflecting on my life, where I’ve been, where I’m going. I would do them again, to take a moment of deep introspection, though I think monthly is a bit much.
