Did you use different distros that were actually from different code bases, or was it just 6 flavors of Debian? BazziteOS is based off Fedora. I’ve had issues only with Debian based distros (which technically includes Ubuntu btw)

They’re in Uusimaa region, which still gets some sunlight in winter. Either way, they produce massive amounts of energy in the Summer, and in the winter we use the nuclear reactors more.

I live in Finland. Can confirm we have solar energy. It’s extremely useful considering that in the summer we have near 24 hours of sunlight.

Just wondering, but why isn’t it possible to just use something like the RethinkDNS app and block all internet access Nova has? That’s what I’ve done at least. Haven’t found a launcher I like as much, and don’t see why a launcher would need internet access constantly. I already use RethinkDNS to block other apps too, like Gboard

Tryp BazziteOS next instead of Pop. It’s a Linux OS that’s designed for gaming and comes with all drivers, emulators, proton, etc out of the box. Also based on Fedora, which in my experience does better in the gaming department.

Kodi / Libreelec are in the same vein as Android TV. There extremely neutered operating systems that can basically only do that one thing, so if they failed at it, well…

You can really edit documents, run YouTube with a decent UI, possibly use sponsor block, can’t do video game streaming.

Actually, I take it back, Kodi etc are more limited than Android TV on the Pi, since at least that supports Steam Link and Moonlight streaming.

So yeah, like Android, it can play the video. But it can do anything else like if I were to run any actual distro.

VLC was giving me issues too when playing video as well though, but only on some distros
