I mentioned that subreddit was banned in one of the top post on Reddit and it seems like they suppressed my comment.

From what I remember, I don’t think there were any extra steps besides registering. The guide did go into detail explaining what kbin.social is for those looking for alternatives for reddit.

They even banned r/KbinMigration

Wow that was fast. Glad I managed to read the guide and register for an account before that happened.
