Rich people have special access to the legislative machinery that you and I don’t. Through bribes “contributions” they can craft laws that let them avoid paying their fair share of the tax burden. They can also “modify” pending legislation to remove the penalties for breaking those laws. It must be nice to live in a consequence-free environment.

I grew up watching WW2 movies and the Nazis were never shown as being anything other than Bad Guys. I would love to know how anyone grows up here in the U.S. and doesn’t know that.

I haven’t had any problems running my Steam library under Linux Mint. Older games, like Deus Ex and Giants: Citizen Kabuto I can run directly in Wine.

If I could get Vortex Mod Manager working properly under Linux, I wouldn’t need Windows at all.

This. It feels to me like driving a stick shift when you’ve been using an automatic transmission for years. You have to do a little more fiddling but I honestly don’t mind learning a new OS that isn’t actively working against me.

With Windows . . . on the other hand . . . every time I’ve had to go “under the hood” (tweak Registry settings, Config files, etc) it’s been to prevent Microsoft from doing something crappy to me.

You might want to check out Libre Office. It’s document compatible with MS-Office and I think it comes pre-installed on Linux Mint.

I checked out Mod Organizer 2 recently, but it didn’t support Subnautica the last time I tried it. I only use mods for a few games, line Stardew Valley and the Fallout games.

There’s nothing subtle about Trump. So when he say something blatantly stupid and evil, it doesn’t need translation or interpretation. If he says, “we’re going to ‘fix’ voting so that you’ll never have to worry about voting ever again” there only ONE way to interpret that. Believe people when they show you what they really are.

It also doesn’t help that our mainstream, “liberal news media” (you know, the one that’s owned by only six corporations) is constantly running interference for Trump.

I’m seeing this on YouTube, as well. I’m interested in gaming and entertainment, but in the last couple of months, I’ve been getting absolute right-wing dipsh*ttery in my “Recommended” list.

It feels to me like YouTube is trying to rage-bait users into engaging in this trash, even when those users have shown no interest in it.
