4·8 days agoConsidering all the BS with our current government I’m going to assume any and all baseless smear campaigns means it’s in my best interest to vote for that person. This guy is probably a radical progressive who believes we should tax the rich.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What’s something you own that has truly paid for itself?
6·11 days agoAbout 3 years I bought a mechanic set of ratchets and wrenches and some other tools for changing my own oil and some other auto repairs. All in I spent about $500. In July, I changed my own brakes and rotors and 2 vehicles I own. On that job alone I saved over $1000 dollars. Not to mention all the times I changed my oil. I also changed my spark plugs on one of my cars and found a gasket leak that I also fixed which was probably another $500.
Best investment of my life.

The Hawaiian coffee is like $10 a bag 😂
Coffee prices near me doubled. Even for “American made”. Probably still insourced the beans. The cheap coffee is $6 a bag. Last year it was $3.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•what's a good answer to placate the c-suite if you're accused of lacking motivation and being unfriendly?
1·25 days agoCommitting to do your best isn’t a commitment. When you get questioned about it you just say you’re doing your best.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•what's a good answer to placate the c-suite if you're accused of lacking motivation and being unfriendly?
2·26 days agoThere is a fine line between not following instructions and being combative. The reason yours doesn’t work is because it opens the conversation up more for the employer to ask questions. It tows the line of being combative and telling the employer to pound sand.
There is no harm in telling the employer you’ll try to fix something. You just can’t commit because they’ll hold you to the standard you set. Committing to “do your best” can’t be challenged and most middle managers will think they won the conversation.

15·27 days agoSince you’re union the only correct response is: “I’m sorry you feel that way, I’ll do my best to work on that”. That needs to be your response for literally any type of criticism. It’s not an admission of guilt, it cuts the conversation short, and it’s not a direct commitment to fix it. If they follow up with more crap about why you need to fix it just repeat the line. If they want you to sign something, make sure to “RTS”

1·1 month agoThat isn’t likely. Viruses require hosts to multiply so they favor direct contact with other hosts like coughing or sneezing. Aerosolized virus particles are deadly but they reduce the overall infections because once a majority of the population dies, there’s no one left to infect and the virus isn’t able to survive in the air long enough without a host. That’s another reason infections usually get weaker over time. The less severe the symptoms, the more people can be infected.

1·1 month agoThe difference between the dnc and rnc is that the rnc is united behind 1 set of morals that stays relatively consistent: religion. The dnc is more like a coalition of different ideas. So you are right that they should have done more to capture more voters.
However the non voters and protest voters are “cutting off their nose to spite their face”. Idk if you’re familiar with that saying but in other words they voted against genocide and instead voted for more genocide. If you don’t see how that is a fact then I’m sorry but you lack comprehension of reality and need to do WAY more research and studying so you can sit at the big kids table.
I thought I was CRAZY. I tried the $5 burrito hack on a take out order and was mildly unimpressed. It’s ok in a pinch but for 50 cents more I’ll get way more food at McDonald’s. My wife went in and ordered it on a different day and they gave her SIGNIFICANTLY more food. Like double. In that scenario it’s definitely worth it.
