We are in an AI business explosion, they make the best hardware for those workloads and can charge whatever they want for them. Also this is not real value but investor value, so as long as the AI hype continues their value will keep increasing.

Thinking about it, using a new version of proton/wine-ge on lutris does show a setup dialog similar to the one that shows when you first run it so I would assume wine refreshes things on a new version.

For me it was enhancer for YouTube, it had a basic ad blocker that I had forgotten.
No popups for me on FF with unlock origin, but something weird happened yesterday, all videos on a playlist didn’t play at all, they just skipped. Edit: Found out there was another extension triggering YouTube’s ad detection, all’s well now.

I’ve been using Linux on my laptop and work/school computers for a while now, but what made me switch my desktop to Linux was emulator performance. Then I saw the progress Proton had achieved and news of MS putting ads everywhere and I doubled down wiping the windows partition for more disk space.

I live fairly close to a place notoriously filled with drug dealing gangs. One summer 3 pet fish stores and 4 barber shops opened and within a couple of month they were all closed.
