They will come but Lemmy has tools to defend against it. There’s no central authority to sell Lemmy. Anyone can spin up their own instance and any instance can defederate with a corporate one.

You can subscribe to other instances communities via your home instance’s search. That’s what I’ve been doing anyways.
The quality of posts feels like it has declined on Reddit since the API changes.
