If their past behaviour is any guide they could also allow felons to own weapons, or at least carve out exceptions for access to nuclear weapons and advanced militaries.
Mostly harmless

A few years ago somebody pointed out that twump looks like the front end of a centaur and I cannot unsee it.
Then again, his current posture could be the successful result of a species realignment surgery from mythical to femboy.
🔫 Always has been
What a hot pile of garbled mess… I envy your confidence talking about things that you evidently have absolutely no idea about.
Great idea! Let’s also expel Italy with its fascist government, or France where the nazi woman got 40+% of the votes last time, or the Dutch and their largest faction in their parliament that happens to be far right. Shall I continue?
The English word ‘speaker’ has multiple meanings. In Hungarian, there is a different word for a speaker device that casts sound (hangszóró, “sound caster”) and Speaker of the House of Parliament (házelnök, “president of the house”).
Still, when googling one, you may get results for the other. 🤷
We promise it won’t happen again, but when it does happen again, it still won’t matter.
Rest assured that when it does, we will make every effort to promise once more that it won’t happen again.
Not for much longer
When even the US is telling you you are overdoing the whole bombing thing…
The human brain is capable of wonderful things, and also shit like this:
former adult film star
former adult Benjamin Button
In countries with strict laws forbidding euthanasia, people living with painful terminal medical conditions may take up blowing the whistle on Boeing instead…
I was listening to a podcast on moral philosophy (wouldn’t you wanna be as cool as me??), and one suggestion that’s stuck with me was the morality of, trigger warning,
‘life like child sex robots’.
As in, would we as a society want to permit such things, knowing that they could potentially save humans from actual harm if they offer an outlet that scratches an itch? On the other hand, would they bring forth more harmful desires in a greater number of potential perpetrators, leading to even more harm?
Anyway, I’m glad it’s not my job to contemplate such disturbing topics.
Cannon fodder is a gender neutral job.
Tangentially, the disaster recovery plan for a company I worked for 20 years ago included provisions of shift work for 9-5 people. If one of the major offices were to become unavailable due to fire or whatever, the other location would accommodate the extra workforce by going 6-2, 2-10, essentially doubling the desk count until a permanent solution was found. Back then, everybody was 100% office based.
Hybrid is a compromise that makes no sense to either party. The company still has to maintain an expensive office while being limited to the talent pool within commutable distance. The employee still has to waste countless (albeit fewer) hours travelling while being limited to job opportunities within ~20 miles of their residence.
What if it’s a new couple of two homeowners who move in together, should they sell one property before the relationship solidifies?
What if the grandchildren are in secondary school when Nana dies, is the family allowed to hold on to this second property for the few years until the kids move out/in?
What if you accept a contract position in another town, should you be forced to sell and buy, or is it okay to rent out the home you have and rent another elsewhere?
My point is that there is nuance at the lower end of the scale, and the enemy is big corporations and landlords of massive portfolios.
Leasehold is a type of property where you rent the land for a really long time (decades), and build your house on it. Every few years you extend the lease so it has no risk of running out. You don’t know how much the landlord will charge you, or indeed if they extend, although there are some legal protections for leaseholders.
I don’t have anything to add other than an anecdote:
I got permabanned from /r/askhistorians for having a “vulgar” username. Yeah, this one that I’m using now. I had been lurking for years, one time I commented a thank you to someone’s reply, and bam! I was gone.
Wouldn’t that volume for sale appearing on the market decrease the price in and of itself?
