Communities tend to attract like minded individuals. It’s not that everyone is exactly the same, but those that are very different or have very different opinions don’t generally stay for long. That said, even within those like minded individuals there’s a wide spectrum of opinions.
For me there are a handful of topics I know I’ll get down voted for sharing, because it goes against the majority. And that’s fine, it doesn’t stop me from sharing my opinion, and I don’t really mind the downvotes. I think in general though as long as you’re able to share your opinion with nuance and self awareness, and it’s not something mean or hateful people will hear you out.
This entire post is about a woman that was shot and paralyzed for not wearing a hijab. Stop deflecting. It’s absolutely fair to criticize bad things done in the name of Islam. Feel free to create a separate post about bad things done in the name of Christianity, I’m sure you’ll have no issue finding numerous examples. But stop distracting from the oppressive environment women find themselves in in modern day Iran.
Maybe as a social signal for other humans.
Test administrator’s response: “Sir there was no coloring portion on this test.”
I never said that you said those things. You said you were the last generation to understand technology and not just use it, which is quite frankly ridiculous and untrue - especially for anyone with work ethic and intelligence.
Get off your high horse old man. Millennials were born into technology, molded by it. We live and breathe it, and also grew up in a world where things most definitely did not just work.
I think you significantly underestimate the ingenuity and problem solving abilities of the younger generations. My Gen Z coworkers are extremely smart and hard working and understand how things work just as well, if not better than older generations.
I don’t know what Canada’s system is like, but I’ve heard it’s harder to immigrate to Canada than the US, and it is not easy to immigrate to the US. You have to get your green card sponsored by a company or marry a citizen, there’s a ridiculous amount of paperwork, and depending on what country you’re from there can be a years long queue to get your green card application reviewed and approved. I would be interested to hear from a Canadian if it’s a similar process.
You accidentally added a year. The book is 1984.
There’s more to life than living long. I would rather be healthy and energetic than lethargic and tired all the time. Even if genetics play a large role in longevity, my own choices decide how I feel, and I feel way better if I exercise. Healthspan is more important than lifespan.
Everyone has a caveman brain that seeks tribal inclusion. More specifically, the right preys on sad and lonely outcasts that have been, or feel like they have been marginalized or abandoned by society.
That sounds like both people are wrong. If one person defaults to anger and the other defaults to lying that sounds like a really unhealthy relationship.
They don’t have offline backups?
Gitlab has a checkbox for squashing merge requests into a single commit. Not sure if GitHub has that too.
Nah, you just need to be really specific in the requirements you give it. And if the scope of work you’re asking for is too large you need to do the high level design and decompose it into multiple parts for chatgpt to implement.
iPhone to iPhone uses iMessage. Android to Android uses RCS. iPhone to Android uses SMS, but that will change soon when Apple finally joins the modern age and implements RCS.
Some people also use signal or WhatsApp, but it’s not as common here.
What’s reddit?
Idiots shouldn’t buy things they can’t afford. I have no sympathy for someone that buys a gigantic overpriced truck and gets it repossessed because they’re not paying the bill.
