I ride an e-bike, but a scooter is tempting. The biggest reason? Theft and parking. When I take my bike, I have to spend a few minutes at every destination finding a bike rack, finding spot, and then awkwardly locking the bike up thoroughly. Then I have to also remove the lights to my bike, as those will get stolen if I don’t take them with me. So I have to find a parking space, maneuver my bike, remove and pack away the lights, and lock the bike up with a cable and u-lock. Oh and often this is in uncovered bike parking. And I live in the PNW where it’s raining half the year. In contrast, with a scooter I can just take it right in with me to whatever building I’m going into. A scooter just sounds like a whole lot less hassle.
Good thing the auto industry is funding fear mongering against automated forms of mobility!
Tale as old as time. The abused grow up to become the abusers.
Well, the vast vast majority of Hamas fighters are what a regular military would classify as “reservists.” Hamas are mostly part-time fighters who otherwise have regular civilian jobs and live regular civilian lives. (Or at least they did before the Gaza strip was blown to rubble.)
It’s actually a lot worse. The IDF has a much, much higher rate of civilians killed for every noncombatant than Hamas does. Hamas is objectively better at avoiding civilian casualties than the IDF is.
They’re literally no better than Hamas at this point. Hamas’s who deal is, “fuck it. We’ll kill the innocent with the guilty, let Allah sort it out.”
Daily reminder to all ICE agents. By signing up for ICE, you have signed yourself up for a lifetime of fear and criminal liability. There are Nazi concentration camp guards that were tried for their crimes in their 90s. There is no statute of limitations on crimes against humanity. Your names are recorded; your deeds are known. And you will face justice for your crimes. And do not count on a blanket pardon saving you. Crimes against humanity are violations of international law that cannot be pardoned.

The problem is that Microsoft doesn’t honor your wishes. There is no button you can click that says, “opt me out of all AI and cloud data features.” You can disable apps, buttons, and tracking today, but there will be new ones out tomorrow. And there may be a period of weeks or months of them sucking your data up before you figure out what they’re tracking and how to shut it down.
Himmler.
Look, I don’t know why you have such piss-poor critical thinking skills and a complete lack of any ability to read the voluminous coverage on the subject.
But the entire reason Trump wanted this ruling was because it would make it easier to trample people’s rights. Without national injunctions, your rights do not exist. This is especially true for immigration. The Trump admin is also fighting to be able to deport people without due process, and you’re already not entitled to representation during immigration procedures.
What portion of immigrants can afford a lawyer? If you’re a low-income US citizen, and Trump decides to revoke your citizenship, what exactly is your plan? Yes, you have citizenship from birth, but that doesn’t matter. Trump has decided to just fucking ignore the Constitution entirely. And yes, in theory, you can sue the admin in court, but good luck with that. If you can even afford a lawyer, by the time you find one, you’ll already be on a plane to Sudan.
How are you so dense that you can’t realize that the entire point of Trump pursuing this is that he wants to remove from people the ability to challenge his illegal actions? There’s literally no other reason to do this. If you live in the US, you have seen your own rights massively curtailed by this ruling. But you’re either too stupid to realize that, or you’re just happy that you’re not likely to be at the front of the line of people being fed into the meat grinder.
Don’t link to a massive ruling and tell people “just read it” you fucking goober.
No, I just don’t suffer fools.
And you don’t see the blindingly obvious problems with that, the issues that have been repeatedly pointed out in dozens of articles on the subject? I’m sorry, but you just aren’t operating in good faith. You’re either willfully ignoring those issues, or you are demanding others do your homework for you.
Please explain your current understanding of the ruling in full before you ask others for lengthy explanations.
The rich aren’t accessible, but their property sure is awfully flammable.
It’s not enough to reform campaign finance. We need to destroy the class of people behind this. We need to really wage class war, a class war of annihilation.
We need a national wealth cap. 1000x median household income. Anything more is taxed at 100%.
I just remove my upper layer of skin whenever it gets too hot.
Read the article. The most egregious violations occurred during the Biden administration. Biden is better at Trump as a whole, but on the Gaza issue, both have support for Israel locked in at 100%. People often fall for the marketing - Biden virtue signals while Trump vice signals. Biden made a few token show gestures towards Palestinian rights, and Trump gleefully celebrates his cruelty. But in terms of actual tangible support for Israel? Trump’s record is a direct continuation of Biden’s. The Biden admin for example were the first ones to propose the ethnic cleansing of Gaza. That isn’t something Trump came up with - he just vice signaled with his stupid ‘Gaza riviera’ plan, while Biden’s plan for ethnic cleansing was discussed quietly.
