You’re not wrong. I work for a company that really tries to make new employees feel like they’re part of a “family”. The longer you work there, the more you become immune to their bullshit though. Mostly because the low-level employees get treated worse than those working at headquarters. Luckily it’s only a parttime job and I’ll be leaving as soon as I’m done with my masters.
That explains, but yeah, still off-putting :')
A little off-topic, but who calls their employees ‘snoos’? Am I missing some context here?
The OS wars have always bugged me a little. On one hand you have iOS users acting all high and mighty and considering anything other than iPhone less, on the other there’s some snobby Android users that seem to think everyone that uses an iPhone is an idiot. Guess we can’t help but engage in us-vs-them thinking sometimes. Excluding people based on the tech they use makes absolutely zero sense to me though.
I’ve used both iOS/MacOS and Android/Windows over the years and I can’t really say that one is inherently better than the other. Each platform excels in a different use case however and has different USPs.
Anywho, just my two cents. Cheers!
Yep, this is also a common feature for phones for seniors.
Yeah, this is a bit of an overcorrection, but if it increases interest in smaller phones, I’m all for it. Really not looking forward to the moment I have to replace my 12 mini
Yep. For me it also matters whether I’m using my beehive account or my feddit.nl (much smaller instance) account. Guess it’s just part of the federated part, but it’s a bit annoying all the same
Would you mind elaborating on this a bit or linking to documentation that explains this in more detail? It seems that unless I visit any thread on its own instance, I’m not getting the actual number of upvotes and/or comments. Waiting and checking back doesn’t seem to solve it (double checked on a post I checked about 4 hours ago, still can’t see the full thing), so maybe it helps if I know what’s going on exactly.
That explains why his karma is somehow going up instead of down >____>

That one rubbed me the wrong way too. On one hand they’re trying to convince everyone that their announcements gave devs plenty of time to adapt, but on the other they’re ignoring the devs that want to cooperate. There’s no way that response backlog is 3 months long.
Yeah, I actually don’t mind the smaller user base. Although it looks like I’ll have to miss out on a few things (r/HistoricalCostuming and r/FashionHistory users don’t seem to be here yet in substantial numbers, for example). So long as we’re all excellent to each other it’s all good though (:
That’s what I expected as well. My guess is that it’s mostly somewhat tech savvy people that care about the changes. The more casual users will probably keep using reddit. Basically the lifecycle of most social media tbh
Thanks for the tip for the data request! Did that just now (:
I’ve put all my saved posts and comments in a notes file in preparation and have deleted an alt account. But I think I might keep my main a bit until my most niche subs have transferred (if they’ll transfer at all). Once Apollo stops working I’ll no longer be going to reddit on my phone in any case.
That one’s very sweet. I’ve also seen a few heartbreaking ones and I kinda wish I could send the people that wrote those a hug honestly
