A little late to the party. I was on board with defederating until I read this comment on another instance’s meta community and it completely changed my mind.

tl;dr: Defederating doesn’t benefit us at all and just makes more users move to Threads, or at least an instance that hasn’t defederated.
I’m sexually attracted to steam.
That’s cool. But wait until you find out about steam, that’s hot.
My wife has been reading a ton more books after leaving Reddit. I’ve mostly switched over to Lemmy. I’m a developer and interested in tech; my wife not so much. So she hasn’t made the jump to Lemmy yet
I have a Google Pixel 6a. It’s probably pretty close to what you want from a iPhone Mini. It’s still a bit bigger than the iPhone Mini and I would like an even smaller version.
Maybe to 3 or 4, but I don’t think their brains are developed enough for more than that.
You can gleen some(or a lot) from using a packet analysis tool like Wireshark(it’s been a decade since I’ve done anything like that, there may be better tools on the market).
If he was smart, he should have one. It’s important for a CEO to understand his competition.
Before I was diagnosed and medicated I flunked out of college, my marriage was strained, and I couldn’t hold down a job. I am much more thoughtful, intelligent, well-spoken, creative, and happier on my medication.
I acknowledge that my experience might not apply to everyone but your comment is disregarding people with ADHD that want to be, well, part of society.
The title makes it sound more provocative than it really is. It’s like saying “America’s Love Affair with Glasses” or “America’s Love Affair with Insulin”.
The article is actually pretty good. For many Americans Adderall and other stimulates to treat ADHD let us function in society and the shortage was hard on millions of Americans.
my options are either to buy my own laptop and work somewhere else when I need to get work done or make a partition/new user on my desktop that’s strictly for work
1000% option 1. You need to have a work space that is only for work and nothing else. Get the laptop and set it up in a room far away from any other devices(TV, desktop, etc).
Rust is a very good language but is relatively new on the scene so it has to compete against other languages that fit the same niche(primarily C++) that have been around a lot longer.
Rust has been very popular for hobby projects for a while but it’s still pretty rare to see it for larger projects, and you still almost never see it for enterprise projects. So it’s cool seeing an app that uses it blow up.
I haven’t been here much longer. It’s been really cool seeing all of the communities pop up as users flood in.
Umm… No? There is no correlation between quality of user and their willingness to trudge through a bad UX.
Slime Rancher is great. My 4 year old loves it, Slime Rancher 2 is out on early access and is just as great.
While not Diablo, Path of Exile, Grim Dawn, and Last Epoch are some others that are basically Diablo in everything but name.
I’ve played a ton of Path of Exile; it’s free to play and has major feature updates every few months. I haven’t played Last Epoch but I’ve heard good things.
It’s very unlikely that Lemmy will ever be as big as Reddit, but this influx might have it reach a tipping point where it can start to grow users organically.
Bored with the feeling of nothing to play.
I finished TotK, as in finished all of the shrines. I was planning a pokemon fan game on my steam deck for about a week but finished that too. I was playing Melvoe Idle on my phone for the last 6+ months but just 100% it.
I feel like I am growing out of video games a bit. Work and young kids make it hard to put energy in a game unless I’m really into it.
It’s probably against their TOS, so they could ban the account. It’s not illegal. I would say it’s pretty gray morally, since it would probably be bought by an entity that will pretend to be a real person to sell product or spread misinformation.
