Killer Kamala?

Same. I wanted to believe so badly. I would honestly accept the smallest hint that she was going to be different. Something to tell myself as I pull the lever. But if anything, she is toeing the line even more carefully than she did before.

Kamala Harris issued a Whitehouse statement condemning Hamas after the body of an American hostage was found last week:

Hamas is an evil terrorist organization. With these murders, Hamas has even more American blood on its hands. I strongly condemn Hamas’ continued brutality, and so must the entire world.

As Vice President, I have no higher priority than the safety of American citizens, wherever they are in the world.

Will this be the trigger for her to use equally strong language to condemn Israel, who has killed 30 times more people in the ongoing genocide than Hamas? Or will she just reiterate as she did in her recent CNN interview that:

I’m unequivocal and — and unwavering in my commitment to Israel’s defense and its ability to defend itself.

CNN Reporter: But no change in policy in terms of arms and — and so forth?

No.

Does she care about all Americans, or only those whose deaths justify continuing this genocide?

I look forward to Kamala Harris restating her unconditional commitment to Israel’s “right to defend itself.”

“hate” is already a noun (in addition to being a verb). The “ness” suffix is superfluous.

Progressives aren’t going to get a candidate we like this year. And you know what, that’s ok. I wasn’t going to vote for Genocide Joe, but I’ll do everything in my power to put in office Harris, Newsom, Whitmer, or whoever else milquetoast neolib gets the establishment nod, if only to prevent Trump from taking office.

Just about anyone can beat Trump. Now that we don’t have a senile old man holding us back, we’ll be fine.

Adults are wildly overreacting to some kids being jerks. Part of being an adult is tolerating other people saying things you don’t like. American schools are authoritarian nightmares.

I can only hope Death hasn’t left D.C. yet, but is just sharpening his scythe. In particular, there are a couple presidential candidates who are rotting on the vine.

Is it standard operating procedure or not? If it is, then why would it make the Biden team look bad for revealing that they followed the norms.

It’s not unheard of for a politician to ask what will be covered in an interview. It’s not good practice to provide questions ahead of time, and it’s unheard of to let the interviewee script the questions themselves.

Most damning is the lack of confidence Biden’s own staffers have in him to rig the interviews in which he is supposed to be demonstrating his mental agility and acuity.

No. It’s fairly common for interviewees to ask for a list of questions beforehand, but according to Boston University journalism professor Christopher Daly “it is not good professional practice to give questions in advance to sources such as public officials.” And to let the interviewee actually write the questions for you is egregious journalism malpractice, thus the resignation.

The banner is disturbing. The impulse to use the government to suppress offensive speech is also disturbing.

The answer to predatory corporations targeting children is not helicopter parenting. Children need communities in which they can safely grow into independent, self-reliant adults. That means as a society we need to protect them from corporations that seek to exploit their naivete, whether that be via gambling, drugs, social media, or anything else.
