Even Microsoft doesn’t seem to be actively preventing their games from running on Linux. Fuck Sweeney.

Learning that companies are doing this so you can’t install competitor’s games
Wait, wat? I hadn’t heard this explanation. I cynically thought it before, but I’ve never seen it suggested by anyone other than me.
Saskatchewan too, 28 October.
Yup, I was friends with his older brother. Both of them were/are a bit weird, didn’t think much of either of them academically until grade 12. Then their math & and computer genious came out. Had a few university classes with them, the older brother has better social skills, but Lee is more creative IMHO.
Upshot is I played Capsized in 2009, so that was neat.
I need to try out Xonotic. I went to high school with the guy who started the original game, who runs Alientrap now.
I’ve been meaning to try the original Crysis now that I have a computer that can play it. I started it, but then life happened.
DOOM Eternal didn’t do it for me. It’s Doom-ish, but not enough. It’d be a better game if it wasn’t set in the Doom universe trying to add a bunch of non-Doom elements to the game. Doom (2016) did that too, but not to the same extent. I like the older Dooms mostly for their simplicity: get gun, see bad guy, shoot gun. Pick up health. Repeat. Doom Eternal did that, but added a story, weapon mods, and skills. Fine mechanics, but not Doom enough for me.
I tend to get new soccer balls only when there’s a world cup. I just buy the current world cup replica. My favourites are South Africa and Qatar.
I’m probably not the best person to ask. I’ve never lived in Regina, but from visiting it’s similar to Saskatoon, except it has a man-made lake instead of a nice river valley. It’s a nice enough city, but it’s also clearly a government town. As for London, I’ve never been. I have family there, and part of my family moved to Saskatchewan from London over 100 years ago.
I would have, but my first minimum wage-type job was after high school. I didn’t make enough to pay into CPP, but I don’t know if that’s a universal truth for younger workers or just because I didn’t work more than 10 hours a week.
Also fun fact, going back go my original comment about wage: Saskatchewan’s October increase to its general minimum wage won’t catch up to Ontario’s current student wage. Things are cheaper here, yes, but things aren’t (much if any) cheaper in Saskatoon or Regina than in London.
What part of Canada? I see old pickups and SUVs all the time.
#4 is huge. I had an '89 Ford Probe. It had 330000km on it when the bottom rusted out and wasn’t worth repairing. Mechanically that thing was still perfectly sound, and probably could have put another 100k on it.
Since this post is about Saskatchewan, I’ll add that Saskatchewan doesn’t have a student wage, just one minimum wage.
It also happens to be about $1.20 less than Ontario’s student wage. I like my province, but man does it have its issues.
Oh yeah, completely agree as long as it’s done by the car with no telemetry or anything. When it comes to features like this my big worry is always privacy. The safety is a good thing.
My car turns off cruise control if you look away from the road for any length of time.
Yup, all true, but even then Saskatchewan largely voted PC federally. Very strange political mix.
No, Saskatchewan also doesn’t exist. We get very little from the feds, for two reasons:
When good things happen it’s because of a unicorn like Ralph Goodale. The NDP could have a fighting chance for a few seats here, but they need to actually campaign and realise that they’re #2 in nearly every riding in the province.
Or similarly, “not habitable, but it could have been”. Subtle difference between the two.
The ADL confirms, your comment is anti-semitic.
Oh, yeah, Valve and Proton are to thank. I’m just saying Microsoft’s not blocking Proton like Epic and a few others seem to be. I can appreciate the stance of “We won’t help you, but we won’t stop you either. Good luck” that I think MS is taking with this.
