I have a similar issue but I am able to use SMS for those few people, most of them are relatively easy to convince of Singla in my experience, it’s as easy as it gets, basically whatsapp in secure!
I will finally be able to replace fucking SMS with a few people that simply won’t switch to Signal, I simply won’t use Whatsapp and that did cause some security issues till now!
God damn, you should probably try to sue for that torture!
Still lazy! ;)
That’s not at all what my comment claims…
I usually stick to two or three and don’t try to findmentally change the workflow but you are right, especially for small changes like this one!
I get why that thing isn’t implemented because it’s really ugly and most of the icons there serve literally no purpose but they need a proper replacment because some apps simply need it!
My recommendation isn’t to ditch Signal for contacts that have it to, it’s simply to avoid adding another app with access to your SMS if you are worried about security, there is nothing that app will do better than your default SMS app.
The SMS reliance existed before the name changed to Signal and it was a online messanger ever since so no clue what you mean with that.
That’s because SMS isn’t end to end encrypted in general, you need a encryption client on both sides to achive E2E encryprion aka Singal to Signal or something comparable.
Your preinstalled SMS app is usually the best way to receive SMS, I wouldn’t give and unnecessary app permissions to access them!
Damn, that’s awful!
Both have laws like that in the making and beside tiny formalities the UK sadly didn’t abandone it at all! :/
Have you ever touched a Google phone? You CAN’T uninstalled preinstalled apps on ether of them, if you don’t root your device third party app stores suck, the law allows you to get rid of preinstalled bloat, messager interoperability is included and so on, that’s a huge law and the first against silicon valley giants with enforcment that will actually hurt them!
They literally ad d ed the tagging function on images to improve their facial detection so I doubt that this is a surprise to anyone!
Sorry, I mean browser engine. True, it certainly wanst the worse and a huge step up from IE and now it’s just another blink shell but I wouldn’t touch a Microsoft engine even if Google had 100% marketshare!
I would rather use Googles search engine than put up with majore dissatvantages in terms of speed and performance to be able to use Microsofts, never forget how they treated the internet before!
Yea, we have the same issue in Austria but technically that’s illegal behaviour and you should be able to report it somewhere!
They got a exception because npbody uses that insecure garbage here, everyone uses Whatsapp tho so this makes a lot of sense!
