They certainly sound satisfying, but definitely can’t beat Doom in terms of utility or power fantasy.

I do love the audio and visuals and vibe and just overall everything of HeXen a lot. It’s not as pick-up-and-play-able as the Doom, but it’s a great suggestion. Been a while since I did a replay, too…
I feel like Doom or Quake are cop outs here, but they are perennial replays, and they have some great horror aesthetics
Or after the “but” and before the “and”
Couldn’t they have made it bigger?
Fair enough, but endless feeds and short form videos are also widely regarded as dangerous to mental wellbeing, so I agree with them on that point.
But I’m more interested in getting people away from the adtech platforms, so also happy to see decentralised alternatives pop up.
The great thing about decentralised social media is I’ll always have my anti dark pattern folks in one corner or other.
I go back and forth. I like getting cozy and warm, but when it’s cold my skin feels uncomfortable, like it’s crawling or shrinking on me, like I put it on wrong. And my hands feel gross and cold and I rue having to touch myself with them in the bathroom.
But when I get warm enough it’s nice.
I’ve read 500 page novels that have touched me less than these 5 paragraphs.
Thank you for sharing this story.
So anyway, I love those dark maples with the leaves that are so blue they’re almost black in certain light. I call them goth maples.

So hard to pick… But I love those bushy dark maples with the leaves that are so blue they’re almost black in certain light. I call them goth maples.

EDIT oops wrong post
I haven’t used Amazon in over 5 years now. Unless you’ve got some truly critical equipment that is only available through their platform, then it’s just a matter of buying from other sources, or in most cases, not at all.
I just think back to the 90s, where I wasn’t able to get literally anything I wanted unless I went to a big city. Somehow I survived. I was ever happy sometimes, if you can believe it :p
For anyone confused by the image, those are mostly crypts you’re seeing.
… to be buried at the cemetery, one has to be interred inside one of the shared crypts in the cemetery.
Here’s a picture with a bit more detail:
Oh I didn’t know that, they can’t just wave it away?
Robot laws innit

E: oh, no threat of violence?
Thank you, you’ve summed up a good clash of feelings around these terms with great economy.
When I (male) use the term wife to describe my relationship, I don’t want to contribute to this feeling that I’m pulling for the default in an exclusionary kind of way. Like contributing to this cultured of presumed heteronormativity.
Better in my case to leave a little unsaid, so as to make room for other kinds of relationships.
My partner said the exact same thing. I’ve always preferred “partner” - it just sounds nicer, like more respectful, egalitarian. We’re mixed gender so it’s wife/husband, which just sounds so old-fashioned
I’ve heard it’s very good and I’ve tried every one, but personally could never get into them.
