  • It’s really weird … after the war, it was perfectly acceptable to call out, accuse and point fingers at communists or communist sympathizers as enemies of the state … many of these people had fought as our allies a few year prior and helped to win the war.

At the same time, we were welcoming Nazis and Nazis sympathizer into the country - many of whom were the same people our veterans had fought against a few years prior - and then allowed them to gain wholesome productive and wealthy lives in complete secrecy because government knew that it no one would like that.

It was far easier to be a Nazi or a Fascist after the war than it was to be a communist or socialist.

The stigma is so great that no one even wants to admit it even today.

It’s no wonder that far right ideology is so prevalent these days. It’s a cancer we never wanted to fully immunize ourselves from. And now its coming back and we still won’t admit we suffer from it.

  • Mine is wear a medical grade mask in public spaces.

    It does multiple things.

First it protects you from air borne pathogens like viruses and especially COVID.

Second, if you are confronted or people get mad at you for wearing one, it immediately let’s you know what kind of people are around. If they’re the type that will get mad at you for wearing a mask, it’s definitely a place to leave and avoid in the future. A mask is a great way to weed people out in public.

My wife has lifelong lung problems now and we can’t risk any infections. So wearing a mask is necessary for me … and at this point in my life, it’s normal now and I find that it’s normal for most people. 90% of the people that see me in a mask notice but immediately understand and don’t make an issue of it. It’s 10% of the loudest idiots that make it a problem and a mask is a great way to unmask them (pun intended)

Therefore … take five minutes and make up whatever calculations so that you either pay nothing or very little, send it in and let them figure it out.

No sense doing all that work if they already know anyway because they’ll send you corrections and tell you what you have to pay.

This is too stupid for me … I turned if off and will just watch the highlights tomorrow

And this is supposed to be a contest for leadership of the most powerful, most developed, most modern nation in the world?

The worst part of all this is that everyone on the planet will be affected by what Americans will decide on … and that is an absolutely scary idea.

  • My story didn’t mean to imply how to become a millionaire … it’s a story of how to live within your means

All my property value is probably less than one small urban apartment and all my old vehicles are worth less than one brand new car.

I work for myself and don’t bother expanding. It all just means that the money I make was only for myself and only within my means. My house would probably be looked at like a country bumpkin but I’m not a right wing libertarian … I’m actually a liberal supporting socially minded leftist who also supports minorities and LGBT and women’s rights.

I’m indigenous Canadian and from the very start of my life I knew I was on my own so I had to live that way … but it didn’t mean that I gave up supporting others around me who were dealing with the same issues.

  • Not only is it stupid for exaggeration but for also glossing over the idea that it’s logical, sensible or moral for any person to own so much wealth that they would never be able to enjoy even just 1% of that during a single lifetime.

It’s completely absurd also from the thought that as one person owns enough wealth to pay for the lives of millions of people … millions of people are living in complete poverty and starvation.

We look through ancient history and laugh at the thought of our ancestors who worshipped kings, queens, god men, emperors and all powerful leaders … we’re still doing the same thing.

These thoughts don’t just reflect on people like Musk but on all of us for thinking and accepting that this is all normal behavior for what we all like to think is a modern sophisticated society.

  • If a leading Nazi could easily go into the ranks of the US government and kick start its space program that eventually led them to land on the moon and everyone was perfectly OK with that … then it would become much, much easier to ignore every lesser Nazi that ever came out post World War Germany.

Look up Operation Paperclip and look up the history of Wernher von Braun

    https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/features/chasing-moon-wernher-von-braun-and-nazis/

In post war Canada as many critics have pointed out … it was far easier and more acceptable to be a former enemy Nazi and Fascist … then it was to be a former war ally socialist or communist.

Our ancestors and relatives who fought in this war against one ideology came home after the war to mix with the same people they fought against supporting the same ideology they had just fought against a few years prior.

The worst part of this history is that Nazism and Fascism is like a cancer that we allowed to stick around after the war and we literally fostered and grew it ever since and now we are dealing with it all again … all because a small group of entitled morons, millionaires and billionaires were afraid of a bit of socialism that could have spread the wealth a bit to everyone else.

  • The bewildering part for me is to watch an entire first world nation of millions of thoughtful people just allow all of this to happen and continue to happen.

I gave up on Trump years ago (and I didn’t think much of him to begin with) … much of America is still holding on to him and that is the problem.

Trump as a person and personality is not the problem … there are hundreds of people waiting on the wings just like him.

It’s the American mentality and the people who support this stupidity that are the problem.

It’s the American financiers and multi millionaires that enjoy funding and supporting this lunacy that are the problem.
