  • so you admit that like most people you don’t actually give a shit about protecting anyone. You would rather protect imaginary fake fictional characters because it’s easier and makes you “feel good about yourself”. I genuinely hate performative assholes (which is 99% of humans, let’s be honest. 99% of people only care about their feelings and making themselves feel good by thinking that they are doing something good, not actually doing a good thing). There’s no evidence that fictional material is harmful, in fact, quite the opposite there is some evidence that access to fictional material may actually protect kids and prevent abuse from occurring, by serving as a harmless sexual outlet. I mean let’s put it this why, go ask a victim of sexual abuse “If you had a choice, would you prefer that your abuser abused you or that your abuser relieved their pent-up sexual frustration to some fictional material” I guarantee 100% of them will say that they would prefer to have not been abused.

  • (Just a quick disclaimer. I am vehemently opposed to prison and think we would be better off getting rid of it and actually helping people.)

It never ceases to baffle me the amount of gender-based double standards or shitty sexist society has. If a guy did this we would get a life sentence (likely without parole). And a death sentence in a death penalty state. But, because the person that did this is female, she doesn’t get a life sentence or death penalty, she gets the luxury of getting to walk out of prison after a time of serving a sentence (just to be clear. I don’t think any prison time is ever justified or ethical. But that’s not the point. The point is to call out our misandrist society. I hope one day Equality might actually be a thing, thought it will likely be long after my lifetime.

I like my Fitbit Charge 5. Honestly, really the only reason that I went with a health/fitness tracker instead of a smartwatch is battery life. As much as the extra features of a smartwatch would be nice. The problem with smartwatches is that you have to charge them daily (something I already do with my phone, and I’d rather not add another device that I have to do that for). Whereas, with a health/fitness tracker (like the Fitbit Charge 5) I only have to charge it like… every couple of days (I haven’t kept track, sadly, but I’d estimate at least a minimum of 5 days)

I keep hoping that smartwatches will get good enough battery life like health trackers that they’ll be viable (the pixel smartwatch looks nice)
