Wasn’t the shooter republican and/or conservative?
Mostly convenience, the Klarna app is miles ahead of what my bank offers.
While I agree that increasing consumer debt is a problem, I think Klarna provides a valuable service for online shopping.
I can get my goods delivered and inspect them before paying anything. If the goods are not as stated (or don’t arrive at all) I just dispute it and then it is Klarnas problem, I haven’t risked anything of my own money. If I had paid up front, I would have to try to get my money back. It’s almost always harder to get money back than to dispute and refuse to pay.
Some regulations are welcome, but I don’t see BNPL as a bad concept in itself.

I’ve been using Linux professionally for 15 years. It’s been Debian or Ubuntu almost everywhere I have been. Although that might be regional.

If you know how the code does something, you also know what it does.
You are absolutely right. It was inline comments I had in mind.
Absolutely, although I see that as part of why
Why is there a horrible hack here? Because stupid reason…
No, but it’s getting more and more so here (Sweden) too with the ongoing polarization.
Comments should explain “why”, the code already explains “what”.
Texts are not synchronous communication. If a response/action is needed, a voice call is better suited.
Sorry for chuckling at your disappointment.
I try to follow Bash strict mode. It can protect you from some foot shooting.
I hate that my government (Sweden) is a driving force behind this.
I understand that you jest, but risk is not only about odds. When you calculate risk you also want to consider the severity of failure not only likelihood. If you risk shitting out your liver you want better odds than if you just risk feeling a bit I’ll for a bit.
Pick a small bug or feature from the backlog and fix it. First iteration of a fix is probably shoehorned in there, then I try to adapt the fix to the code base. Matching the style and design of the code base is more important than my own preferences.
I’m a learn by doing kind of person.
That actually looks a bit top heavy.
My server should have the needed power but I’ll definitely investigate the docker setup to make sure that the jellyfin container is not unintentionally limited.
I’ve been meaning to check out bazarr and if external subtitles turn out to behave better, that will be on my to do list.
Thank you
