The first device reminds me of this :D
A wild fork appears :)
Well it’s probably cheaper than to innovate on the hardware front (display, performance, Joy-Cons, etc.) . And since they have an insane amount of money, it think they can keep doing this for quite some time…
Saw the trailer, was hyped. Then I read some steam reviews… Now I’m sad…
The article is a summary of:
Am I reading the article wrong? The plastics come from the storage containers. Therefore the heading is quite misleading.
Thx!! :) have a nice day!

So true.
But it’s a problem in general, humans like labels and groups. I. E., that’s good for you and that’s bad. It’s easy and probably rooted in our evolution. Some people like different because they had good experiences in the past. Like new fruit wow good, tastes well and makes me feel good. Others, new fruit makes stomach ache… Third group oh new fruit, but nothing new. You can replace fruit with mushrooms or people.
Some people hype, some diss and some are indifferent. From time to time they group up and fight each other, because one group has to be right.
It makes me sad, that we’ve had similar discussions and hate for over 2000 years…

I over simplified a lot, but i hope some people feel the same.
Please let me know if I’ve said anything offensive, i don’t know better, yet.
Sorry, I can’t help you, but what is vlemmy? A special kind of lemmy (different frontend etc)? Or was it a special community?
The other way around makes sense too, but OG has a strong point. Some ads show you vibrant colors, sharp images and smooth motion. And somehow these advertisements look better as what you’re usually seeing on your screen. They show you what your new TV can do you on your old set up and that is somewhat crazy. It’s like an illusion. Maybe I’m crazy or stupid because I’ve been there and thought wow that new screen can really produce some nice images although I was watching it on my old TV.

I was thinking about IP-logging. Lets say the page logs your IP-address, the trolls might get you, don’t they? - In case they bust this lovely page… I’m not sure about it, but in some countries it’s punishable if you download or stream copyrighted content. That’s why I usually use a VPN, but as I said - I don’t know if I’m up-to-date on this topic.
I’m out of the loop for quite some time. Do you use sites like this with a VPN or TOR?
For me it was Code Server. I write a lot of text and having my Markdown files available on every device is nice :)
Yeah the fragmentation isn’t great, but people usually flock together. For instance, you have multiple subreddits for franchises like Pokemon, but over time people will only use the most active or the most specific sub (each PKMN game has its dedicated sub). Plus I believe I’ve read somewhere that communities could be merged in the future. So if we don’t have two or more stubborn mods, that don’t want to work together everything should be fine, probably.
Well, okay… I get your point. I just found out and celebrated. So I thought maybe some other mateys would enjoy this win too.
Matchmaking took upwards of 10 minutes. Maybe they could capture a core audience but all that waiting would alienate even more people. Increasing the wait time even more. They could have invested more money and re-release it, but how much money would it take to overhaul the game. And there is no guarantee, that a 2.0 would be played more. So giving it up is probably the best solution, not burning even more money. Keep in mind, it costed about 400 million $ to make.
