Definitely, he has a very fragile ego. I’m also not a psychologist and too lazy to look it up, but read smg about the two types of narcissm, vulnerable and grandiose, which have very different behaviours, but come from the same internal feeling of inferiority.

I actually worked with a client very much like him, absolutely incompetent with fragile ego, always playing powergames and trying to humiliate others. What was surprising to see is how hard it is to deal with them, they really exhausted me, and at the end I left the project looking worse than I could have with a normal person. They also openly abused everybody, peers and teammates, not just me the lowly service provider. And the results of his work was always horrendous: crunch hours, months of delays, missing features, etc. I only hear bad things about them from others, yet I always saw some people falling over themselves trying to please this horrible human being, and I couldn’t understand why.

It’s like some people are inherently drawn to these narcissists, while others are repulsed by them, and these two types don’t understand the others. I look at similar world “leaders” like Putin, Orban, or the South American chainsaw clown, and laugh at these idiots, yet millions are happily voting for them.

The youngest Israeli hostage taken on 7th of October was less than a year old, I don’t think he already finished his compulsory military service.

Watching from Europe, it’s astonishing.

We have adopted many parts of US business culture, luckily not this one.

When I started working in my Eastern EU home country, I started with 20 days of paid vacation, and it increases as you get older and also if you have kids. Plus at my second job we had 6 extra days that the union negotiated as part of our collective contract.

Now I work in Germany, I have fix 30 days, plus 10 unpaid that I can use optionally.

Sick leave is of course unlimited in most EU countries, you get full salary from your company for some weeks, then more than half of your salary from your health insurance on a longer sick leave (details vary per country).

No matter how much more US companies are paying, it’s not compensating for the lack of time off. “You can always earn an extra dollar/euro, but you cannot earn an extra minute”

I honestly wonder, how people can live like this - I’m of course talking about higher paid white collar workers, not those on poverty wages who wouldn’t have a choice in any country

Exactly. He is probably swimming in money already, and could easily get another well-paying job in the industry somewhere or start his own e.g. production company. But the people working for him need their jobs, and there are around 200-250 of them. So even if he could say fuck you to Disney, he has to consider his responsibility to his colleagues/employees.
