It looks like kbin.social is in the final stages of migrating their site, and merging a whole bunch of improvements. Having their ~5k users federating with us again will be nice

It has a cleaner interface, and some nice features. I really like tags (what am I saying? I love tags, everything and everyone should have tags!) for posts, where Lemmy doesn’t even have flairs.

Annoyances (excepting the current overloading) are:

    • keeps resetting me to all instead of subscribed magazines
    • Different nomenclature, Lemmy upvotes are boosts, upvotes are something else, then there’s the different community search, instead of !com@instance it’s @com@instance
    • Randomly showing me unrelated tweets or whatever mastodon calls them

They’re called toots in Mastodon and yeah, I’m not really a fan either. Which is why I’m on the Lemmy side.

I also use Mastodon, but it’s just a very different format to posts on Lemmy.

Thanks for the details! Sounds at least worthy of some exploration!
