if you are confused about the image i was trying to stream a game from steam to the steamdeck, the frame is 1280x800 because … steam. plus another instance of the game was started even if i clicked resume.
great job valve! i have many other mildlyinfuriating about this device
No,gaming mode
Well, it’s interesting. I’d try streaming to the steam deck while it’s in desktop mode and see if that fixes the display issue. Kinda cool that it holds a 800p resolution but I find it curious that it’s not full screen as opposed to the actual 800p but just in the corner.
im already moving toward Sunshine instead, this steam software is really a mess…
Would love to hear other issues on why you think the Steam Software is a mess? I’ve personally found it better in every way when compared to a PC, Laptop, or any other hardware, tho I’m hardly someone who uses it more than for streaming and gaming. Which has worked exceptionally well for being the forefront of handheld desktop gaming.
The moment I hooked it to a tv everything goes to shit. Lag,unresponsive UI and so on. Sometimes the overlay doesn’t come up when you hit the steam button.
Other than that there are all the syncing and offline mode issues that are just ridiculous.
I know my TV has those issues unless I turn on Game Mode, (tv setting) and that’s a 72in tv so I’m sorry you have that issue… What are the syncing/offline issues? I’ve been able to go from wifi to nothing just fine, all games besides DRM games have all worked flawlessly as well without even enabling offline mode, so now I’m curious as to what issues are there.
To be honest, I just want to help, I’m not trying to call any one out, I just personally believe that Steam has done a tremendous job at creating SteamOS.
I appreciate the concern but game.mode could not possibly affect the rendering speed of the deck. I think you are lucky because thesw problems are very well known that’s why offline mode exists in the first place. Half of the time if I don’t have internet games don’t start DRM or not,it’s always some fiddling
